If boring keeps you injury free, then get excited about consistent training and getting faster. The Kayano got me recovered, the 2000 10 keeps me from getting injured. Also is better at tempo/strides than the tempus. Yeah I said it!! haha

Couldn’t agree more. Us stability wearers seem to be limited to dull, bricks of shoes whilst the neutral runners get all the fun! Glad to see that Saucony have started to break the mould with the Tempus / Guide 15. I really hope others follow their lead.

Nice review Fordy. Can't argue with anything you said. I ran in this shoe for 20 years, including last year's GT, but have moved to neutral Asics shoes and will never go back. I am using the Glideride 3 and SuperBlast and the difference in ride, bounce and comfort is amazing in these shoes compared to the GT. I also hope that Asics totally revamps their stability lineup, but given the GT is always at the top of the list for best stability trainers, I have doubts they will change it radically. Maybe, adding a full gel layer as they did in the Nimbus, and redoing the upper would be a good start? Not sure.

I took a pair out today for the first time and really enjoyed my time with them. I've get pain in my piriformus normally but felt none in these shoes. I'll probably go for the 12's next.

The GT-2000 11 is a good shoe like te Gel-Cumulus but these are traditional less heavy stability shoes. Something new from Asics was the Kayano Lite 3 that I got, it has a nice rocker and the middlesole from the heel to the forefoot area seems the same density and that provides a smooth transition. I belive ,that is why you liked the Tempus so much, it is a more modern stability shoe. But if you can , compare it with the GT and the Tempus ! We need more comparisons on KZitem about stability shoes !

Man great review. I have the tempus and I'm getting this one on Friday. I will say that the tempus runs a little wider, especially in the toe box. I like the tempus but I have alot more pain after my runs in them then in my novablast 3 or any other shoe.

I think one of a few mild stability shoes that was actually good is the NB Prism, apart from that it's a sad world out there

Always great break downs , much appreciate it. 1 question.. in your opinion , would this Asics 2000 offer comparable stability and support to someone who's using The Brooks adrenaline gts line?

I disagree, but I use these for walking. I bought the light green version the night it was out it is sooo good (both appearance and feel)! For running, I bought superblast - it is hard to walk in those I’m still trying to understand. No knee pain after running (superblast) which is amazing.

It's indeed a very boring shoe but I find the GTX version less boring. I don't really see GTX versions with stability in my area. Only Nike and Hoka have this besides the ASICS. My body doesn't do good on Nike and Hoka. I would like it if for example Saucony or Mizuno would make GTX shoes. This will save me money, so I don't have to buy a trail shoe ''and'' a road shoe.

Guess it was too much to hope for that they would make the same change they’ve made to the nimbus across the board. Down with the gel 😂 looks nasty, and yeah is it too much to ask for to get exciting stability shoes. It can be done and at least we see signs of brands heading in that direction.

Never going back to boring shoes... As an aside, I fail to notice a single review of Puma Deviate WTR out there. Much warmer than the standard, but a bit ruined by painting the foam - in white - making it harder and less bouncy...

All my stability shoes are utter junk. Even from Skechers which I usually love. And day before yesterday I got Saucony Tempus, they finally dropped the price. I paid 125 €. I had my first 5 km run in it. Well, maybe these shoes need some serious brake in period but my first impression is - if I every buy it again, which is very unlikely, the fair price I would pay for it is 50 €. The shoe midsole is firm, dull and unpleasant. No bounce, no nothing. Firm and unpleasant ride, same as all my other stability shoes except Altra and Puma which are soft and dull. Where is this Saucony super foam lost in Tempus, I don't know, but i cannot find it. Maybe something will improve after 30 - 40 km, maybe some serious brake in period is necessary to get any life out of this shoe, but for now I'm pretty disappointed. Btw I had one of the versions of Asics GT 2000 and it was utter junk. So no surprise for me in this review. Too bad, I really like a lot the Saucony E. Pro 3 and I hoped Tempus might at least resemble somewhat to that very nice shoe, since some of the foam should be the same. But i guess it's on the paper only.

I was excited to get the Tempus after wearing Brooks GTS shoes for ages. Like you, I have found them a bit strange - also they have made my hips and IT bands hurt. Nah.
@pensiveape6184

@@ruthbrierley1798 And what's even more annoying is they priced it as some kind of premium shoe. I swear I'm not buying again anything having EVA foam in its midsole not even partially. I made mistake with Tempus because I thought the PB foam would make a difference (as in Pro 3 and Speed) as everyone was praising it. Well, I was wrong. Such a waste.

@@paddywiggle Well, I have exactly the same Saucony shoes (Pro 3 is by far the best) as you and my Tempus is a piece of junk. Firm, dull and unpleasant to ride in. So good is the midsole. If you are happy with yours, that leaves us only with one logical explanation - quality issues. You were lucky and I wasn't as well as the lady that has the same experience above. This is no surprise because I used to buy some of the shoes that I really liked (Altra Escalante Racer e.g.) several pairs (3 in that case). 2 pairs have fantastic midsole, the midsole of the third pair is a pure crap. As if it was made of cardboard.
