Hi Gilbert! Thanks for tuning in and I'm very happy if this was helpful for you. Also thank you for suggesting this shoe for a review a few weeks back, I really believe that the strength of our little community here on the channel also comes from what you all suggest and ask for :-) Take care

Amazing how a carbon plate and a 'considerable' outsole contributes to the firmness of the shoe given the low durometer reading! A superb review. Perhaps a nylon plate and a minimal outsole might make a big difference. I guess then you may have something very close to the Endorphin Speed? Thanks Alex👍

Hi Stefan! Thanks for the great comment, and yes I'm with you on the idea that a nylon plate could very well change this shoe and make it less firm, more flexible and more fun. I'm looking forward to sharing with you the data against the Endorphin Speed in an upcoming video :-) Take care

Thanks for the review. Good information! It sounds like the plate took away the bounce and fun out of the FF Blast midsole material. It does seem like it's a Novablast with a plate.

Hi Will, thanks for stopping by and for the comment. It's not muted either but yes I think that plate is a bit too rigid for this shoe. Take care

It seems Asics may have an issue with their uppers on some of their new releases. I was just watching Kofuzi and he had the same issue with the upper 'folding' in the toe box with the Novablast 2 that you had here with the Magic Speed. Great review Alex. Thank you.

Many thanks for the nice comment! :-) I did not watch any of the Novablast 2 reviews as I prefer not to hear much on it before testing myself but if it has the same issue it would be a bummer really. Btw thanks for using the word "folding", that's exactly what I should have said to explain it. Take care

Seems like a nylon plate would have been a better choice. It also would bring down the price of the shoe. I think they should have called it the hyper speed plus and priced it at 120 with a nylon plate. Mine have been delayed so no telling when they'll show up.
@AlexFilitti
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kim, yes the nylon plate may have worked better. Less rigide, lighter and indeed less expensive. Maybe someone from Asics can read this and take note for the v2...or for a dedicated hyperSpeed plus ;-) Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for the review of this shoe. It doesn’t sound like you are too much in love with it. It seems to be that everyone who had run in it says similar, it’s a perfectly good shoe but nothing incredible. My Tempo Next% are coming towards the end of their lives (probably, at 750km) and it doesn’t look like I’ll be replacing them with these. Good luck with the glucose sensor. Interested to see how it works but I won’t be stabbing myself with one any time soon. 😂

Hi Andy! Yes indeed, you read between the lines and while the shoe is overall a solid product, it's just not a crush for me at this point. Sometimes shoes are more pleasant after 50kms once broken in so I don't want to draw conclusions too soon either. Let's see :-)

I have Magic Speed, Endorphin Speed, Hyperion Tempo & Zoomfly 3. So for the rank 1. ES 2. HT 3. ZF3 4. MS But still low mileage in Magic Speed. I wish it can transform to less firmer midsole & more popping

Thanks for the review looks like i will hold off this shoe first . How is it compared to the Metaracer as they seem similar? Been watching reviews and some have said to also wait for the Novablast 2 , which is more stable than the first . If you will review it some suggest half a size smaller (believe in the run channel) .
@AlexFilitti

Hi Marc, good question but my experience in the Metaracer is limited. The Metaracer was similar indeed but at least had an advantage over other similar shoes for specific workouts or race distances. Here with the MS I doubt it’s the case. And yes i may review the novablast 2, so thanks a lot for the heads up re sizing 🙂 are you going to get the novablast 2, or at least is it on your watchlist? Take care

Great review ! .... Where do you buy the CGM sensor ? - I cannot find it anywhere as a “over the counter” product ?
@AlexFilitti
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, these sensors are from Supersapiens and you can get them online (provided you live in a region where they ship). However the sensor itself is by Abbott (Libre Sense) and I know there are other companies that have based their app and system on the sensor. Hope this is helpful and let us know if you manage to get them and from whom :) Take care

@AlexFilitti
3 жыл бұрын
Hi! With Supersapiens, the one-off test pack is €65 (for 14days that is). But there are other brands selling the same Abbott Libre Sense sensors so I guess there are other subscription models out there too. Thanks for the comment and I look forward your insights in the comments section of the upcoming review of the sensors :-)

Im so torn over this shoe. I loved the Novablast and the Glideride, and the fact this shoe has the Flyte Foam Blast of the Novablast, and the guide sole of the glide ride, I literally wanted to throw my money at ASICS. But, sadly every review says this show is firm, which is nothing like the Novablast. This almost looks like a replacement to the Metaracer??
@AlexFilitti
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin, yes it's more in the Metaracer ballpark. It's not the same animal, but the MetaSpeed(s) (Sky or upcoming Edge) is so much more enjoyable in case you're an Asics fan and want something for faster sessions and/or racing. It's hard for me to imagine an Asics shoe rotation with the MS...Thanks for stopping by!

Seems like most reviewers aren' t really in love with this shoe. Think I' ll pass as well, too many other good shoes in this category like the Tempo Next%, Endorphin Speed or Fuelcell TC.
@AlexFilitti

Hi Robin! It's not a bad shoe but it was maybe a bit overhyped (or too closely associated with the great MetaSpeed Sky). You're 100% that category is stacked with great shoes and more are coming :-) Thanks for tuning in!

FlyteFoam Blast and a name choiche like "Magic Speed" could easilly rise too high the expectation for a "Just ok" shoe. That's the impression i got from many reviews out there.
