Good job getting this review out as the drop is hitting stores. We have air quality warnings for wild fires so I feel the nighttime sessions :) Do you not run any 3rd party insoles? I like the FPs because I can skate a bit longer with them and I'm not depending on midsole for impact protection any more. Hence I can ride more vulcs recently. I had the Westgates though, they were great. I always liked the gel tech from Asics in their runners but I'm one of the people kinda put off by big biz brand moves in skateboarding. The over the top protection shoe they put out with this season of shoes is pretty funny in my opinion. But damn these look tight like sambas or bruins. #conflicted Thanks for the vid mate.
@dadboard

Those Asics look sweet, sound super comfortable. Had no idea Asics made a skate shoe. I have a wider foot/toe box+high arch, the Vans Kyle Walker's I have are so comfortable, but Id like to try something new, mainly to preserve the pair I have. I like the look of New Balances but they're kinda tight fitting, wish they had a wider foot selection, or maybe they do? Im gonna go up to zappos, see if they have wider options. Mahalo for the video!
@dadboard
Жыл бұрын
Yeah if NB is too thin these might be as well, they’re very similar in fit
@spht9ng
10 ай бұрын
These fit so much wider than New Balances that I have had. I have had the 440 and the 808 and both those shoes felt too narrow in different areas. For me I’m usually a 12 US in every shoe but for the ASICS i was snug in 11.5. The arch area and the toe box are both wider than the majority of cupsole shoes I have skated. Much wider than Nike cupsole shoes or NB. Definitely try them on in person if you can or order from a place with good return policy. These do run large similar to Last Resort AB if you’ve ever tried those.

What makes these cupsoles? Is it the thickness and shape of the sole? That style looks like what I thought vulcanized shoes were, so I guess I still have it wrong. I thought cupsoles were the tall puffy DC / Osiris / Etnies looking shoes whereas vulcs were your Vans Old Skool / Emerica Reynolds / Converse One Star style. I don't need an answer from the channel, persay. I'm just asking whoever knows because I have it wrong. Seems like this might actually be one of those classic skatepark debates, too.

Dude… I don’t understand why all these major brands that come out with skate shoes look like the outsole is made of that cheap ass foam shit. New balance look like they’re also made of foam rubber. The shoes made my these companies look as if they will lose their shape fast and won’t last all that long. Looks like the outsole is made for low impact sport like tennis. I always feel tempted to try a major shoe company but then I seen them and they just don’t look right to me. Nike blazers look like footballs. Adidas are just not clean looking. No one is gonna make skate shoes like soletech. Everything these companies use as a claim to fame, is already in a etnies lo Mc rap. It’s half the price and last twice as long. Ascics shoe makers are used to making a shoe for runners so it’s safe to assume they’re flexible as hell which is good but they’re probably going to leave heel bruises if you’re jumping down shit.
