Really appreciate a review from a podiatrist. Just joined as a new subscriber. I have been running in these after coming back from a torn plantar fascia at the heel and they have been fantastic for me (horrible injury - was out 11 months). In my case they were well worth the money as they are less expensive than another visit to my podiatrist. You guys charge a lot!

@@Thomlabe - If my experience prevents someone else from getting injured I have no problem sharing. The injury occurred while I was running. You know it immediately as the pain is searing. I apparently have tight calves which pulled up on the fascia and caused the injury. I've been using a message gun and doing a lot of stretching and strength exercises as part of my rehabilitation and to make sure I don't injure the other foot. I hope you remain pain and injury free.

@@mtmatt6111 appreciate it! I got really tight calves myself and I’ve been struggling with plantar fasciitis in my left foot from time to time, so your initial post made me curious. Just bought a foam roller and I saw improvement after two sessions using it, the muscles were screaming at me with pain. Maybe I’ll look into buying a massage gun too, like you have done. Wish you all the best.

Thanks so much for the review excellent as usual! I wonder if you can do the classic running shoes ie the kayano or nimbus lines for asics? Or also a video about the ways in which running shoes have changed (I don’t know how these super running shoes came about and how they fit in the landscape of running shoes). Anyway thanks again keep it up!

Hey Zach! I am a volleyball player and im looking to buy some new after the summer. I’m looking at a lot of volleyball shoes and have heard that a lot of vball players play with basket shoes. I’m wondering if you could do a review on the ASICS METARISE which many argue are the best volleyball specific shoes or if I should go with a basket shoe alternative?

Very nice review! I have this shoe and I have to be honest in that I think they are just a little bit overrated. It's mainly tied to their asking price. Asics must have listened to the earlier critics because they have since lowered the price from $220 down to $200. Even then, that's still plated shoe territory. IMO, it's bread and butter are longer runs with some type of tempo paces mixed in.

As 100 kg man I can only say this: 2 weeks. And kaput for Novablast 3. No rolling..as in toe off. Just sinking and famous tap tap sound from asphalt. Scary for others, lol. My tendons and space around ankle started to feel fatique and sort of a pain. 4th week..I stopped. Only q I have is why those more firm or stiff shoes protects joints so well?! Kinda obvious, but you are doctor. Thanks!

What kind of mild orthotic would you recommend to use with this shoe for a heavier runner? At 230lb, I restarted running after a long hiatus - and after just 1 week/12 miles over 4-5 runs I think I realize my knees aren't super happy with me diving into a neutral shoe right away. I used to use Superfeet running insoles but I've grown to hate them because of how bulky they are, and they also destroy shoes a bit because of the plastic frame
@ManningOWNsTeboww
Жыл бұрын
What you need to do is work on your knees. Make your pre run warm ups longer and incorporate squats and squat holds. Put your feet together and do a few “sissy squats” as well. Get the knee fluids flowing before you start your runs. It makes a huge difference

Is this much foam/cushion even needed or good for you when running? Took the Novablast 3s out for a few miles and felt like I was running on stilts or high heels. You completely lose any perception of "court feel", its a very weird experience. Just a lot of shoe to have to lift up mile after mile, even if they are light weight (akin to having slabs of styrofoam strapped to the foot)
