Does watching TV or looking at a computer screen hurt your eyes? Dr. Moos explains how extended exposure to the TV and computer can cause eye strain. Use the hashtag #AskAnEyeDoc to ask YOUR questions.
If you're staring at a screen for a prolonged period of time, whether it's the TV, computer, tablet or phone screen, you may experience digital eye strain. The blue light that comes from these screens has been correlated with eye strain.
There are a few easy solutions. One is to look into blue light filtering lenses when you get your glasses. The other is to follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, take 20 seconds (at least), and look at least 20 feet away. This helps "reset" your eyes and reduces digital eye strain.
