Hey Hun. I have my own soap company, Haus of La Luna (@thehausoflaluna) and I do M&P projects. I would suggest to spray just a bit of rubbing alcohol at the top where the skin is formed. That will seperate it and not create that skin. Just two spritz. Nothing crazy. Hope you have fun and check me out on Instagram 😉

If I don't have a microwave, how do I use/melt down melt-and-pour?
@Ali626AMM
4 жыл бұрын
You can use a double boiler on the stove. I'll do that if I'm making a bigger batch because I find all the soap doesn't melt consistently in the microwave without stopping constantly to stir. Just put an inch of water in a pot and then a glass or metal bowl on top that doesn't touch the water. Heat the water to simmering and pop on the bowl with the soap. The smaller you cut the pieces the faster it will melt. JUST DON'T FORGET THE BOWL WILL BE HOT! I've also hung a measuring cup over the edge of the pot, but you really have to watch that. Good luck. I hope that helps you.

If the melt and pour bases are forming a skin before you pour them into your mold, you can heat them for a few more seconds and stir. This should dissolve the skin back into the soap base.

How do i mix activated charcoal into M&P? And how do i mix ac and td as a little batch beforehand in a bottle?
@bramble-berry

We recommend mixing both charcoal and titanium dioxide with alcohol before adding it to the melt and pour base. You can premix and store it, though you will want to give it a quick mix before adding to your batch to ensure it is all still homogenous.

Hi. I recently started making melt & pour soaps. I use the johnsson brand. I have started with the clear base. I use 2 different sets of essential oils and liquid colourants. No final results on the green and white soap, must have turned out bad since she didn't re-heat the white. Also I enjoy Anne-Marie's soap ideas and I like that she made a Q&A video but I constantly felt being sold to. She would have a question, say the best solution is to just buy it from her website, and then give a flippant, sometimes inaccurate answer that makes it seem like in reality she only wants you to purchase her products (which are overpriced by most soap-makers standards, unless you are a hobbyist only) and not try to make soap on a budget.
@HealingMagick
4 жыл бұрын
She has a huge channel of free tutorials, I've learnt so much from her for years, even being on the other side of the world (and therefore, not being able to purchase her products). I don't mind if she tries to sell me her brand. What's so wrong about marketing your business while you're helping people for free? This is how she sells her brand and if she couldn't sell it, she definitely wouldn't be able to afford making such professional -and educational- videos for free. If you don't want marketing my dear, then I suggest you pay for a course on soapmaking or buy a book ;)

@@HealingMagick how do you have internet access but can't by from her website just because of your location? A more sensible claim would be because the ingredients are banned in your country. Can I add Shea butter to melt and pour soap. If so how much per pound?
@bramble-berry
2 жыл бұрын
You can usually add a small amount of extra oils and butters to melt and pour. We recommend using a maximum of 1 tablespoon of extra oil or butter per pound of soap. Any more and you might end up with soaps that are sticky and soft. That being said, if you're wanting the moisturizing properties of shea butter in your melt and pour soap, we offer a Shea Butter Melt and Pour base on our website: www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/ingredients/bases/melt-and-pour-soap/sfic-shea-melt-and-pour-soap-base/V000756.html
