It's amazing that they still haven't gotten around to making a series based on THE CONTINENTAL OP short stories. It's all prime Hammett at his best.

Eddie Muller had me at his commentary for "Angel Face". As a noir man of letters, he's as enjoyable, erudite and witty (and fun) as John Waters. Agree about "Chinatown" wholeheartedly!

47:53 In fact the original Production Code was a reaction to the Arbuckle case and other Hollywood scandals around 1920. The enforcement of the Code was in 1934.

Eddie, you look much better in this version of color. In your intros and outros you look about 15 not salutary years older and uncomfortably close to the grave. But I love those intros and outros! While in that format you look old and unhealthy what you have to say and how you say it is great. -your fan in the Czech Republic
