Gotta call bullshit. At WM 3, there were NOT "sections of empty seats. You would be hard pressed to find even 500 empty seats. The Silverdome held over 80,000 for a Detroit Lions game. Add in the thousands of floor seats, suites, etc, and that pushes the total really close to the announced 93,173. Even if they comped 10,000 tickets, that's still well over 80,000 paid seats.
@paulieindc

While I don't doubt WWF may have inflated the attendance figures for WM 3, I always thought the Meltzer reported 78,000 to be farcical for precisely the reasons you laid out. My understanding is that people who attended the event said there were very few seats and in fact there was standing room only attendance.

Anyone that needs to buy their products to make a statement knows his product isn't good enough to get the job done...Buying your own tickets to inflate numbers is shady Vince practice and I'm surprised Eric and Conrad condone this...Tony should stop worrying about chasing WWE at every turn and get bookers who can write episodic wrestling tv!!

Eric and cornette are by far my 2 favorite podcasts right now. They just tell the honest truth because they dont have connections to either company anymore. And eric loves to challenge conrads cONstant sucking up of AEW. the sad reality about this show is all we have heard about since the show is the numbers in seats, and CM Punk. Nobody is talking about the show which to me shows how mediocre the show actually was. How many can even remember the card from top to bottom and it was jusy a few weeks ago.

The funny thing is that Meltzer gave 6 matches over 4 stars at Wembley and people only remember about CM Punk and Jungle Boy backstage altercation and about the number of people. Meltzer only gave 2 matches over 4 stars at Wrestlemania 17 and a lot of people consider that Wrestlemania the best PPV ever. Clearly the company that is working hard to please Meltzer is doing something wrong. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Just gotta say, Tony, after All-In said they had over 90k in attendance, including 7k comped. AEW even had a press release saying they sold out Wembley. I understand Conrad is trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but let's call a spade a spade and agree that Tony knowingly lied. Does it really matter? No. But here's the thing, they made a huge deal about it being a legit number, and the dirtsheets, and the apologists have been beating the drums about how AEW broke the record. They didn't even break the SummerSlam 92 attendance.

I don't understand the hate that people have for Conrad. Apparently he was rated the worst podcaster. Yes, he's an AEW mark, but so what?! I think TK is a sophisticated Russo with money. I'm not a fan. And I've never been a fan of the dirt sheets. But it doesn't bother me at all that Conrad marks it up over TK and Metzler. And I actually like that Conrad talks a fair amount during a podcast. It's more like a conversation, and sometimes an argument breaks out. I love that! Don't forget, controversy creates cash!
@imfreviews

Being rated the worst is a function of how many people actually listen to your stuff. The people who 'rated' him are generally wrestling fans (and many fanboys) who have nothing better to do than rate stuff that they think is super-important. Since he doesn't agree with everything they think, he's the worst. It's not any more complicated than that. If you don't believe me, looks at the US political landscape.

1) We'll never get the full truth about the ALL IN ticket situation, but I figured from the get go that Tony Khan was going to go ALL IN (LOL) to break that record even if he had to buy every ticket himself. I believe he and other rich friends and corporate sponsors for his soccer team, etc. purchased large blocks of tickets they couldn't fully turn into butts in the seats. 2) WWE doesn't get crap (except from Meltzer and Alvarez) for "attendance inflation" because they don't put their shows on for the purpose of sticking it to another organization. They are a real business and not a vanity project. 3) As far as what the guys said here about Tony being able to use the Wembley number for negotiating with venues, well yeah, saying you got 72K in Wembley is a great accomplishment. HOWEVER, they are struggling to get 2500 in 20K seat arenas domestically. Grand Slam Dynamite isn't even close to 10K at the moment when they did 20K in 2021 and 13K in 2022!

Night one... Ripley vs lynch Rollins vs Gunther Night two... Io sky vs heel belair 2! Roman reigns vs the rock. Winners... Ripley, Gunther, belair, roman. Now In the lead up, Cody and Gunther end up the last two in the rumble again, this time Gunther wins, after that priest cashes in on Gunther, at mania you have Cody vs priest for the ic belt. While Rollins squeaks by another Nakamura match, McIntyre turns heel soon, turns on riddle, I mean whoops his ass good! Riddles gone for now! Drew is chasing Rollins up to the rumble, Rollins squeaks by with a distraction by riddle. Drew gets riddle again even worse this time! This leads to a McIntyre vs the returning Randy Orton! In the woman's side, Ripley keeps that gold straight through mania! She beats Jax, Rodriguez and another woman, lynch wins the royal rumble after losing that NXT title. Now over on smackdown, Io keeps defending against all comers, this includes Bayley who eventually turns face with Io, at the rumble the new hurt business gets a new member and she's heel belair! Belair does a major beat down on Bayley! Bayley is kayfabe injured, Io is challenged and accepts a mania rematch with belair! Belair wins pretty easy here. The rock makes another appearance similar to recently, as rock goes to hit the peoples elbow, the crowd is louder for this, as the elbow drops, Romans music hits! It's very much on from there. Paul Heyman and roman promos vs the rocks promos! At the rumble, solo is wrestling Cena, solo is getting help from jimmy, they are beating Cena down, the rock shows up, as the rock comes out, he's taking forever to walk to the ring as always, roman jumps him. At mania, roman goes over!

Monday night football just got their highest ratings ever and wrestling is constantly in the ratings dump. AEW never fluctuates from the 875,000 they’ve locked in at here recently. It seems like double speak from Conrad when he says the game has changed when talking about wrestling ratings and then at the same time, whether he realized it or not, he mentions the nfl ratings record. Which is it? Why are record numbers watching football but nobody is watching the clown show? Over saturation, lack of story telling, and Trent baretta’s mom are the top reasons that come to mind. AEW has shown me they can’t grow and I’ve now officially tuned out after the firing of punk. Very sad that a viable competitor can’t rise up, particularly when the hunger from fans is very very real.
