Ask Me Anything ALS is an idea born out of the community where I AM ALS advocates living with and impacted by ALS come together to answer questions from an audience of people who are seeking more information about a specific topic. The Ask Me Anything ALS - Feeding Tubes/Nutrition event focused on how and why panelists decided to get a feeding tube, the advantages and disadvantages, how they maintain their feeding tube and more. Part 2 will answer more audience questions -- stay tuned!
About ALS
ALS is a disease that attacks cells in the body that control movement. It makes the brain stop talking to the muscles, causing increased paralysis over time. Ultimately, ALS patients become prisoners within their own bodies, unable to eat, breathe, or move on their own. Their mind, however, often remains sharp so they are aware of what’s happening to them.
About I AM ALS
I AM ALS is a patient-led community that provides critical support and resources to patients, caregivers and loved ones. We empower advocates to raise mainstream awareness and lead the revolution against ALS in driving the development of cures. Find out more on their website: iamals.org
