About the Work:
The place where we live conditions our acts, thoughts, and way of life. Our surroundings modify our behavior, experiences and what we hold in our memories. The concepts of change and displacement are part of the fabric of my life. From the first time I moved and throughout my everyday these concepts are always present along with the sense of belonging.
Most of my landscapes are simple representations of places. The overlapping and layering of different elements, the juxtaposition of texture, images and color allows me to reconfigure these places, revealing a personal interpretation of them. I surrounded some of my collages with wooden pieces. They are embedded in this natural element that emulates strength, warmth and protective virtue.
In the large-scale Skins, made out of acrylic transfers from digital collages, the idea shifts from the other work. They explore the development of a setting and how we move along with it. It also delves into the concept of moving on, and the tracks we leave behind.
