Just watching this because my alarm is beeping and I’m home alone and trying to figure out if it’s an emergency lmao

I'd call 911...I see this was posted a month ago, though; I'm curious what happened? I just watched Eden Ecklund's video in which she describes her carbon monoxide poisoning experience; she called 911 and the police were saying she may have saved herself and many of her neighbors' lives because she had a co detector and called when she woke up to hear it beeping. (If you aren't sure whether it's an emergency or not, it's probably best to call and be better safe than sorry.) CO detectors are there for a reason....to warn you of danger.

Although it was posted a month ago I’d get out anyway it may just mean it’s running out of battery

Closest I’ve been to death is from a propane heater, Id never been educated about them or anything about carbon monoxide poisoning. I fell asleep with it on in my room, Didn’t have windows or any ventilation as it was middle of winter, I noticed i kept feeling dizzy over long periods of time which would make me drowsy and i would fall asleep. When id wake up i couldn’t breathe, Its like there was no air to fill my lungs, This happened for around 2 weeks before I questioned it and found out.

God that is terrifying, I’m so glad you’re alive, you so easily could’ve died.

Be careful man. I'm glad you're doing okay. May I ask for how long you were exposed? Recently I had left my stove top on without a fire, just the fumes. I was exposed for an hour and a half.

@@christiannava1448 this was over i would say 2-3 weeks, got worse and worse each time. To be fair i didn’t take much notice of feeling dizzy and not breathing correct at first. I just thought that due to the weather and season that it was from that. When i realised exactly what was causing it, it for sure opened my eyes. Just shows how easy something like that could happen. I was very lucky. I just wish everyone could get the chance to realise it before it gets too late. People need educated more on it.

I’m watching this lol because I was sitting in my room after blowing out a candle that was producing lots of black smoke, I noticed all this black stuff in my nose and black phlegm in the back of my throat, I was wearing a white jumper and it had gone grey now, im pretty sure I’m being dramatic but I’m a bit scared

My only question is do I have to worry about this in an all electric house
@Nate4Life01
3 жыл бұрын
well carbon monoxide (as I understand) is only generated from combustion; so, assuming nothing is burning or gas-powered in an all-electric house, the odds are pretty slim that you'll have to worry about it from an internal source. Of course if you use some appliances which burn fuel or leave the car on in the garage etc. etc. you can still experience carbon monoxide poisoning, so in terms of safety I'd say having multiple detectors throughout the house doesn't hurt anyone.

@@Nate4Life01 I have actually learned about this since then but it turns out a self cleaning oven or damaged electrical appliance is actually a source believe it or not mainly the oven.

I slept in a bedroom that had a hidden exhaust in it, literally sending all the carbon monoxide of the whole house into my bedroom for 2 years, it's repaired now, but should I still do something? I don't know if there are long term damages i should check?
