These comments remind me why I left the metal community. Music is meant to be a creative outlet that people experiment with and change. It’s a form of art. Art is supposed to constantly evolve and warp. It never stays the same. Asking are clearly happier with making this kind of music. They’ve decided to take this path for a reason. If they were to stay with one sound their entire career they would eventually burn out and crash. You’ve gotta listen to a song for what it is and not what you want it to be.

But "fan's" don't want that. They want entertainers to remain sad, drug addicts, creating the same things over and over again. It's just, artists evovle and if you personally as well evolve, you don't find that bad. But if artists get mature and you don't, you just call them old and sellouts. Think of every artist ever. Not just AA or BMHT, but like every artist. This happens all the time.

Honestly I respect the "sound difference" I mean I know where they started good music. I will always love "metalcore" I mean I love Metal. I have so much respect for cleaning Danny for cleaning him self up from the drugs. It was probably really hard to go though. It was probably hard on the band as well. At some point it was hard for Danny to be around the others becuase of the negative energy reminding him about the past. So taking the break to find him self was super good and take so much strength to do. This is way I have so much respect and appreciation for Danny. (Danny's solo music is good to) Believe me I was so mad when Danny left the band. I stopped listening to AA for the longest while. Until I accepted that Danny was gone for good. I finally listened the album "The black" (I hated it for so long) I finally accepted it and it's a work of art. Denis Stoff Is a good singer. Took some big balls to fill the shoes of Danny. With the return of Danny and the release of the self titled album "Asking Alexandria" is where the music with in has been unleashed. I love the change it is a positive but if they do make a new album and going back to the "old sound" It would be so amazing. If they decide to stay going in the direction they're going it with be good music either way. I am a fan of Asking Alexandria and will always be. Thank you Asking Alexandria for making such good music. Thank for all that read this. FAVORITE ALBUM IS: From Death to Destiny

No, change is bad (in terms of music) . It also reflects politics. Liberal musicians want to change what was a good thing into bad/generic soulless crap made for money with no passion, Conservative bands wants to conserve their original sound and make it signature because it worked and everyone loved it to begin with Then there is change in terms of "upgrades" and upgrading the sound to more unique, more enjoyable than before. This is extremely rare, almost an anomaly, like the band Lostprophets who broke up after improving. "Change for the better" pretty much never happens in music or is exceptionally rare and doomed to end quickly

I'll never understand why this song gets so much trash. Art is art, it has many forms, it evolves, it grows, it changes. This is art, this is beautiful. Sad to see that so many don't appreciate it.

Exactly. You don't have to like the song, it's totally valid if someone doesn't, but that doesn't mean you be a disrespectful asshole and trash talk stuff they've worked on just as hard simply because it's not your style anymore. They don't exist just to make music for people with one specific taste. Fans are like "bands shouldn't sell out and just cater to what people want - do what YOU want" and then when these guys decide "hey, we wanna do hard rock instead of metalcore anymore, we just prefer that", everyone says they're selling out. Not all music has to be crushingly heavy to be enjoyable, and softer doesn't mean you changed solely for money or success, especially a band as already successful as AA. You're allowed to be in a band and enjoy/want to make other genres of music too. Besides this is still rock like their old stuff, a different style, but rock nonetheless. Not like they suddenly turned into a disco band.

McKinnonWolf That’s like me deciding what you’re going to eat for dinner. It’s their band. They can start making songs for Disney movies for all I care. It’s not for us to sit here and be upset because you had a nostalgic song you enjoyed when you were in middle school.

The only thing they haven’t changed is their name, I wonder if everyone was on board with the change in genre or if danny was like “look guys, it’s my way or the highway” .... new stuff isn’t for me, I prefer heavy riffs and face melting vocals. This is boyband stuff
@DukesFinalBoss
4 жыл бұрын
Denis had to leave the band right before their 10 year anniversary tour was to start, so as a last ditch effort they got danny to come back to continue with the tour and he never left. Thus meaning, it came with a condition of writing lighter stuff. Either that or they’d have to find ANOTHER new singer, which probably would’ve been worse off for a band. So I think it was a “life or death” thing for the band, rather than what they want
@katiedoveaston1832
4 жыл бұрын
tjcervi that was my thinking, instead of going through finding another lead man, they’ve just accepted what danny wants 🤙🏻 wish them the best of luck on their new journey
@DukesFinalBoss

Katie Doveaston agreed. One of the few cases I “respect” selling out. It’s their livelihood and their new singer dropped out right after they made an album, right before a tour. Didn’t seem like they had much of a choice other than giving up. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Victoria Potter the irony in your comment is laughable. You attempt to bring me back from speculation, but then say you know what happened for sure. What makes YOU the expert? Was a big fan of this band. Hell, I was GOING to that “10 years in the black tour”. I WATCHED the livestream where Ben addressed Denis sudden departure so soon after the record and before the tour and not sure what the future held. Their uncertainty, the idea that they just lost their first singer, and then their brand new one, you tell me what YOU think happened other than they needed danny back for the tour because he knew the songs and was their OG. Would YOU go see AA for their 10 year anniversary and truly enjoy it with some random singer they scooped up beforehand? Answer all that for me. You can, but won’t, because defending your favorite band and ego counts more than logic on the Internet

I really do understand where all the "They changed!!!!!" people are coming from, but like c'mon ya'll, these dudes are about to be in their 30s. They aren't gonna be edgy 18 year olds forever. If you want the old sound, the old records are still there. And while I truly, really, wholeheartedly miss the Reckless & Relentless sound, they aren't gonna go back. I don't understand what all the "Whelp, bye guys, ya'll sold out LMAO" comments are gonna do. If anyone wants to have a - civil - discussion, I'm down to chat about the whole bands changing sounds thing, cause I wanna know other mindsets.
@lycanthoss

The comments I really hate are the "They sold out" or "Pop trash" ones. Pop music is purely defined by what is popular right now, typically radios play pop music unless they play specific genres. This isn't pop music, because it isn't popular... or hell maybe the radio stations where I live are outdated, but considering they play songs only months to weeks old I wouldn't think they're outdated. Then there's the group that pretty much says that synths are the next coming of fucking h***er (don't want my comment deleted by Susan). Also the "Bad mixing" comments are annoying because there is legitimately nothing wrong with the mixing. It's like people are specifically looking for problems to latch on to, even where none exist.

I’m glad you liked Reckless and Relentless as well. I believe that was there best album as well. I definitely analyze lyrics when listening to music and to me I believe the best song on this current album is “In My Blood” I hope they do take more style from their song “Moving On” but that’s just my opinion. I remember Stand Up and Scream during an ex girlfriend phase and all those lyrics in that album fit the scene during then. Haha

@@lycanthoss Exactly. It's pretty much just music elitism of, "This isn't what -I- want, so it's bad. 0/10. Unsubbed, unfollowed, burning my AA shirts." While I can get behind the mindset that the current definition of pop music is slowly becoming it's own genre purely because it's hard to describe the sound of current popular music, everyone forgets that The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Def Leppard, Ozzy, etc. were all at one point considered "pop" acts. I hope everyone leaving those types of comments did their stretching before reaching for these nonexistent problems

Evan Pranata not heavy? I think you do not know what you are even talking about also considering you comment was senseless and pointless like most I see toady coming from assumers! Heavy has nothing to do with anything as music is about rythem ,lyrics while staying in sync with the rest of the band,and great lyrics from the soul tie it together to spread the songs meaning delivered by a band who does more then write trash lyrics and play to messy guitar and messy everything else. Fans at this point are the ignorant problem,go jam a rap crap song you know nothin lmao.

Lyrics: I had a dream once All by myself with no one else I thought I'd died and gone to heaven Then I woke up And everybody wanted something Reaching out don't fucking touch me So I take pills to induce sleep But I always wake up Please stay away from me You keep on talking with nothing to say I don't wanna hear about your life You make me wanna eat a bullet It's on my forehead Four letters, off And go forth and spread the word I don't wanna know you Please stay away from me 'Cause I don't fucking like you I had a dream once I didn't know it at the time The world was perfect in that moment Then I woke up I was surrounded by these strangers Standing close and staring in So I drink liquor to escape it But I always wake up Please stay away from me You keep on talking with nothing to say I don't wanna hear about your life You make me wanna eat a bullet, bullet It's on my forehead Four letters, off And go forth and spread the word I don't wanna know you Please stay away from me 'Cause I don't fucking like you From my heart I hope you know this song is about you From my heart I hope you know this song is about you From my heart I hope you know this song is about you Please stay away from me You keep on talking with nothing to say I don't wanna hear about your life It's on my forehead Four letters, off And go forth and spread the word I don't wanna know you Please stay away from me Please stay away from me 'Cause I don't fucking like you
