You are doing the thing that only improves the understanding of different cultures between two countries. That was a tremendous achievement and absolutely admirable!

Haha, some questions were tough, like the COVID-related ones. Thank you for the interviews and telling people the truth about China.

A lot of covid-related questions popped up, which brought me back to early 2020. But I guess many of those I spoke to wanted to double check of what they had heard. It was definitely a learning experience for me because I did not expect any of these questions.

Wow this is really interesting. Thank you for telling the truth. BUT there are many people who just believe what they want themselves to believe.

People will always believe what they want to believe. Very true. But at least many had the readiness to listen.
说得对。其实我每次回家,很多人平时问我:中国的字母表有多少个字母?我告诉他们汉语和拉丁语言不一样。汉语里面没有 A, B, C, D... 他们真的无法理解这一点。很搞笑,因为我来中国之前我也是这样。哈哈!

Thanks Duncan. I was surprised as just how few people were out that day, Hamra is normally one of the busiest streets in Beirut. But your suggestion has been duly noted!

They eat crocodiles? So do Southeast Asians, Brazilians and Australians. Some people in Louisiana USA eat alligators.

How come Lebanonese speak so many lanaguages?😯😯

So Arabic is the official language in Lebanon but many also speak French because we were colonized by France. And then English because of globalization...

(1) Sorry, I have to say you are wrong. People in China don't eat bats. (2) And no, you are wrong again! The picture they saw of this lady eating a bat was *N O T* even in China!!! It was in a small Pacific island nation (I forgot the name of the country). She posted that photo to shock her friends and viewers.

Are you talking to me or to the guy who said they bats, crocodiles and snakes? Because I told him it's not the case - though some people do eat wildlife (didn't specify any specific animals).

@@longinchina Ok, first my sincere apologies for the harsh tone. I was debating with few other weird people just before heading to your video. So I guess I mindlessly transferred some of the remaining aggression onto you. My apologies. I just had a watch again of your video with a calmer mind. And I get a much more positive impression of your conversations. And I applaud your efforts. But anyway, the point I was trying to make in that comment was that : When the guy talked about bats, you said normal people in China don't eat bats, but then followed by saying they are there to attract tourists (as if bats are there to attract tourists), and then went even further to say some people do eat wildlife without telling the guy you have actually switched the subject and no longer talking about what he was talking about (which is eating bats)! So if I was someone who didn't know China, I would probably interpret what you said as : _"People in China don't normally eat bats. Eating bats is only there for attracting tourists. However some people in China DO eat bats."_ In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this is how that guy might have interpreted what you said. And some of your viewers watching might also interpret it that way. But anyway, now that I have a clearer mind I see the positive side of your video rather than the clearly unintended negative side. And as I said, I applaud your efforts. Sometimes cut-throat kill-mode debates corrupt people's interpretation of things. My apologies.

I do, but my English is a lot better (Don't tell any of my French teachers. Haha!) Do you also speak French?
Well, as a Chinese if you ask me something about Lebanon, the things come up to my mind are the ancient Phoenicia, the center of Levant, and the singer Mika. In addition, eating dogs was popular before 2010 in Guangdong province. You can find stewing dog menu at a price of 7 CNY (1.5 USD) in the canteen in the universities in Guangzhou. The menu of rice and mice was possibly found in the street of Guangzhou. But now you can hardly find anywhere to eat dogs or mice in China. The farms of dogs and mice are not legal in the new laws.

The topics you mentioned about Lebanon are a great start. You would have done well if I had interviewed you. Haha. I knew dog meat is a thing in Yulin, because of the annual festival, but didn't know it was served at university canteens. In all honesty, I don't judge people's dietary choices if they differed from mine. People of different countries consume different animal protein: Kangaroo meat in Australia, Moose in Canada, whale in Iceland, foie gras in France... I had donkey meat in China back when I was in college, which is something my friends back home might frown upon, even though for example, many of them would eat raw beef liver. So I live and let live!
