Stay Tuned. - Mike Okay x P.S If anyone can help me find Dorjai, the guy who picked me up and gave me the energy drink and we sang songs together, I want him to see the video. I think Army personal tried to say, they were heading towards Nyoma which is protected area due to nearer Chinese border. (where foreigners & we too need permit to visit.) If you had said you needed lift till Upshi then they should be fine. Usually army give lift in my experience very often - and especially for sure at times where and when chances to get help from others is less..

Epic ! Liked the pictures around Leh. It is not a good idea to be be on the mountain road when the conditions are icy, wet and slippery. The first time I visited the Rohtang pass was from Manali in summer about 15 years back. I took a local government minibus tour of the pass from Manali. I was shocked how the driver was nonchalantly driving up the winding road with sheer cliffs on one side. Even then there were stretches of the road where the asphalt has been washed away by heavy rains. The next time I went to the region I just flew from Delhi to Leh :)
