Great build! Didi you mask the periscope lenses prior to painting. I'm at that stage with mine and don't want to mess it up. Thanks,

Great work. I'm in the middle of Painting and weathering this model myself. I found this a great build with good detail. As I'm newly returned to scale modelling I will use some of your techniques for sure. Well done, great work.

A cool touch to add some realism would be to paint some of the drive and steering components green. Items such as shockies, prop shafts, drag links, diffs and tie rods are regularly replaced due to wear and damage. The replacement items come in green and are never repainted in tan when fitted. Every ASLAV in the fleet has some green replacement parts fitted. Especially those serving in the MEAO, such as your model.

Good morning Dark Side, that was a outstanding build and paint and weathrting job, you caught the look of the vehicle very accurately, what's next on the bench? I hope you are keeping safe and well in this crazy Covid world, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.

@@DarkSideModeler No prob, I served 20 years on Aust Armour and this vehicle, I've never seen one based on tan, green and grey. Black is used rather than grey. Even with wear and dust etc you can still make it out to be black.

@@DarkSideModeler first, it looks amazing. I tired painting one of these myself and it looked like shit. I’m jealous of you guys who can do this but Rowdy is right. It’s black not grey. I drove the ASLAV myself during my time in Armoured Corps and it’s definitely black. But shot man, the weathering And the whole thing looks fantastic minus the grey paint.

@@matthewh8005 Many thanks for your comment. don't be jealous, the secret is to do and do again. just question of training. moreover, I think that the more important is to build the model you want to do, the technics will come with the time. If I show you my first model..... a shame !

Once again, too bad Trumpeter did not make the Canadian version called Bison.
@DarkSideModeler

I think we can build it if we have a good base…

This kit is definitely a good base. One would have to use other kits as well, Lab Motor carrier, Lav 25, and either the updated Grizzly or Cougar Avgp. Here in Canada those kits are at least $40 each, besides the cost of the Aslav, a bit expensive to model a Bison.
