@@robkemp091983 nonsense. He knows where he is at. He knows whose music he is listening to. He knows how many tears he's shed behind closed doors listening to him. This is the tough guy who probably denied liking the smiths and morrissey for the first couple of years, but who couldn't fight it any longer. This is the guy who curses you for making him cry before completely giving in, and then thanks you afterward. I have no doubt morrissey has a special place in his heart for these "tough guys."

The recording accompanies the audio in such a beautiful way. Morrissey's face hidden in the shadows, turned away from the light, closing his eyes and facing the depths within him. It's just him, all alone, his head surrounded by darkness. In the end the only thing he has to hold on to is the microphone stand. And then he lets go of it as well and everything turns black. Such a perfectly sad version of the song

I've long said that you know a song is top shelf when you hear a completely different version of it, and it still works. This is an exception, this is one of the most haunting songs ever made, and while I have a very active and broad imagination, I simply can't imagine anyone but Morrissey singing it.
