I never ever leave video comments but this was so good that I had to. I live in the Washington D.C area and there are black barbers who don't cut black hair this well. Especially not with this much care and attention to detail. Much respect to Mr. Miwa. Thank you for uploading Vic. Would love to see Barber88 try cutting this man's hair.

This was great and required a great deal of trust on both sides. I know that as a Japanese barber it took confidence to try to cut African American hair, it’s a completely different texture than what they usually cut. I also know it took trust for an African American to let someone who is not Black cut their hair because black folks like everyone else are serious about ensuring their hair looks good. Great job!! ❤️❤️

Love your videos! Just FYI, African American is typically reserved for American citizens of African decent. Saliou, being Senegalese, probably doesn't fit this term. There are black ethnicities all over the world! Probably most accurate to call it "afro-textured" or just "textured" hair.

A little free hand clipper work to smooth out the ends would help polish the look. Not bad considering it is not common to cut this kind of hair in Japan.

I'm African American and I would have to say he did very well. The only advice I would give him is to make sure the lineup is sharp. The haircut was very good but a sharp lineup would have taken the haircut to the next level. If he cuts that texture of hair again, set a good outline with his clippers then clean up the lineup with the razor.

Mr. Miwa is one of the best and I like the photo's in the beginning. As a wetshaver I always wonder which blades a barber uses (Mr Miwa uses feather which are the sharpest imo)

We got the straight hair and now the tight curls of African hair, can we see these wonderful Barbers cut Latino curly hair? That would be wonderful! The reference to African American hair is incorrect stated by the man in the opening of this video. It should be referred to as hair of people of African ethnicities. Also, the man getting his hair cut is clearly an African from Senegal, NOT America that doesn’t make sense.

Great video !!! A few things to work on since his not used to cutting black ppl hair. 1. Never wet the hair make sure it’s completely dry. 2. Just use the clippers or a guard scissors are good go little extra hair to cut. 3. If your not used to they type of texture hair it’s just like sheep 🐑 hair that would be good to practice on if you can’t find black clients. Besides that good job and keep the videos coming

I've seen all of your videos. But I watch this one too go to sleep almost nightly. As a black man who's intrigued by the Japanese culture, and has visiting Japan on his bucket list, it's good to know I'd be taken care of. It would be awesome to make a compilation video with just the barbers using scissors on hair. I'm always turned off by the clippers and the noise from putting down the scissors and such. Just a thought.
