The kettle looks to be silver, so like with the scissors, you can (probably) polish it so it looks good as new. It’ll tarnish from exposure to the air, so discolouration is natural. The irons usually came in pairs, and were numbered accordingly. You might find a ‘1’ or a ‘2’ printed on the top of the metal. I’m going to take a wild guess and say that the locked doll box is locked with a single prong lock (not proper terminology). You could try picking it first, if you fancy trying some amateur lock picking. The tissue is to protect the photo as well as the book itself. It’s always disappointing when it gets folded (and it happens a lot) so I’d be careful when handling it. Ugh, I’m such a nerd about this stuff.

You probably know by now, but the scissors are not for fabrics at all. Those are Victorian Grape shears. In the 1700 and 1800 the rich would have grape and fruit shears, this to cut the grapes from their stem. Most of the time the butler would cut a certain amount unto a plate, displaying the chique shears, and use a fruitscoop to serve these to the diners. Grape shears were mostly used when company came to dine. 😉 The style of the teapot kettle is late Victorian/Edwardian as well. You can tell by the Art Nouveau style of these two items.

Hey, just thought I'd put your mind a little at ease and let you know that at the fabric shop I work at (granted, I'm from Australia), we refer to our area with all our ribbons, trims, buttons, sewing supplies, etc, as "habby" which is short for haberdashery!
