This episode was first broadcast on ITV on the 15th February, 1986. Roy Kinnear was a very familiar face to me as a child from the voice of Pipkin in Watership Down to the voice of Mr. Sprot from Bertha. Later, as my love of classic British films and TV grew, Roy Kinnear was sure to make an appearance somewhere in the cast. From his performance in the film Melody to Ken Russell's French Dressing, or the hammer horror classic Taste the Blood of Dracula, and playing the seedy adult film producer Benny U. Murdoch in Eskimo Nell. Kinear's work spanned many genres, clearly a credit to the man's talent. On the 19th September, 1988, in Toledo, Spain and while Roy Kinnear was filming for The Return of the Musketeers, he fell from his horse, sustaining a broken pelvis and sadly passed away from a heart attack the next day at a Madrid hospital aged only 54.
