Since Fall 2022 I've been running a 13700K on this board. When I eventually build an AM5 system, the compatible Taichi board will be my first choice.

Hey Vlad - am I going to be able to use a *DeepCool Mystique 360* with this motherboard? My concern is the placement of the two fan headers _directly below the CPU socket_ (CPU_FAN1 & CPU_FAN2/WP). The Mystique's pump housing is pretty bulky, and with it installed in the default (hose fittings down) position, I'm wondering if I'll be able to connect the the AIO to them *after* the pump is bolted to the motherboard. What do you think? 🤔
@LevelUPGamingTech

Doable, connect cables first then mount the pump block. And don't worry it's not bulky irl, I fitted it into a much smaller case and smaller board. Tubes sit at least an inch from the board itself so don't worry 👍

The Taichi might be on the expensive side, but you are paying for quality. Massive amount of features, solid VRM and one of the best designed mobos in the market.

Your review really got me interested in the Taichi Z690. I would like to know more about the Independent SATA3 Connector. I know it locks down the sata port. When you use it, does it take away the use of some of the other sata ports? Are the sata ports sharing bandwidth with the M.2 connectors? Any sugestions as to where I can find out more about this feature. Thanks🙏
@LevelUPGamingTech
2 жыл бұрын
It is controlled by ASMedia controller if I remember correctly, haven't used it, but it is completely independent from the chipset and the rest of the lane sharing. M.2 sharing is only done if used with SATA M.2 drives, if NVME drives are used, lane sharing with regular SATA ports controlled by the chipset is not used then, I mean not shared. People usually assume that if an M.2 is used SATA ports will be unavailable. So yeah if SATA M.2 is, not with NVME ones.

Jokes aside please tell me there is a way to disable the RGB on this board?
@LevelUPGamingTech

Turn off in bios or set black as the color for everything, I can't remember which of the two did work. But I know there was an issue where light would stay on even when the PC off and there was the option in bios for it to be off in PC off state which apparently did not work at that time. Maybe a bios update fixed it, I don't have this board any more

I sure hope they updated it. I absolutely love what you showed us about this board but RGB is just a deal breaker to me (don't ask, I just can't stand the friggin things). I did find what appears to be a pretty decent alternative - MSI MAG Z690 Tomahawk WiFi. Reduced in price but not that much reduction in performance and features compared to Taichi, at least that's what it looks like to me. Plus total absence of RGB makes this board perfect choice for a stealth build. Anyway do you have any experiences with this board? Thanks!
@LevelUPGamingTech
9 ай бұрын
That MSI board is actually a great board, I have the Force WiFi variant, basically that is a silver carbon version, Tomahawk is a tier below that one but still a great board, you are missing 1 nvme slot and I think 2 power phases, but everything else is great about it and it can keep up with i9 CPUs without any problem@@Atrumoris

What is the use of that PC? I'm guessing 3D work or something like that, I mean you could, but one of those cards will be crippled a little bit, 2 would work at full speed

@@LevelUPGamingTech Thanks, yes its for 3D. Apparently, the rendering engines with multiple cards work the speed of the slowest card. I can't find a Motherboard with 3 PCI 5 16 with DDR5.. Not sure if anyone will create it at all.

@@MegaBexon No they won't, every consumer level board with 3 x16 slots will sacrifice one slot for NVME drives or that one will be Gen3 or something like that. For what you need you will have to go to the HEDT segment, X platform for Intel or Threadripper on AMD side. For now both of these platforms are not yet on DDR5

@@MegaBexon I have a friend who does serious 3D work, he swears by TR platform so give it a thought, look around on web... TR boards have plenty of PCIE lanes and all slots are x16 and they have like gazillion of them 😉 Also glad you liked the video 👍
