I really do appreciate you taking the time to put together this XR250R series, which is so well done. It has been incredibly helpful to me as I plan a similar restoration of my 1990 model. While I didn’t originally plan to go this in depth with mine, you have inspired me to take the time and go all the way taking everything completely apart and addressing everything it needs, as you have done. Hopefully, parts availability won’t be a problem, as mine has started smoking and apparently needs a new top end. In addition to great mechanic skills, the quality of your video composition is also first rate. I look forward to seeing the finished product and have no doubt you will certainly enjoy riding it when the work is complete. Best wishes to you, and thanks again for sharing your build.

Parts is often hell, and you need to go on the used parts marked. But yeah, after that your XR will last for generations!

Your ability to calmly do and explain at the same time is top notch! I've got my eye on an 03 xr250 and watching your videos really makes me feel like I should go for it and make these same changes. Very nicely done!

No doubt you stay very busy with more important things in your real life, but I (and I'm sure many others) sure do hope you won't give up posting videos on your Honda XR250R restoration series until the bike is actually complete, particularly since you're so close to the finish line! I'm completely hooked by now and can hardly wait to both see the finished product and hear you fire it up and actually ride it a bit. Your workmanship has been absolutely first rate, and is an inspiration to those of us who appreciate these old bikes and hope to bring our own examples back up to excellent condition. I hope to get mine back in fine shape again after seeing your series, and look forward to riding it a bit more while I still can, before having to hit the rocking chair as an old dude in a few more years! Mine is now in pieces all over the garage, with the list of parts ordered starting to come in. Do I copy your color scheme that looks so great in your videos? Or stick with the OEM white frame, or maybe go with silver instead like the newer models, or maybe even go backwards to the 1985 color scheme I liked so much back then? Decisions, decisions . . . it's a tough call. And don't forget that spring is just around the corner now. You're gonna want to ride that thing soon when the weather is perfect for it, so fire up the video camera up and get back into the garage ! I'm wearing out my computer checking in to see the completion of this series . . . if I have to replace a broken PC, how am I gonna afford more vintage Honda parts? They're dang expensive! All the best to you -

That's ironic, just put a new clutch lever assembly on my 89 the other day. I used the 250l one with the mirror mount, planning to make mine dual sport legal. Again, very nice work on the bike great job!

Well its hard to diagnose without the bike in front of me. Does it go into gear when its not running? If you rock it back and fourth? Does it grind? Does the clutch need adjustment?

Hey mate really interested in your videos I have purchased 2003 XR400R but my only common complaint was is that the front suspension on it was really soft and bottom out.. and for me very common for me to blow the fork seals on it after watching this I am absolutely down for changing my forks out would this work for xr400R
