Ironically, God Arm should be actually hailed as "God Foot" , as his driving more so relies on delicate-throttle and brake control. In the anime, Joshima Toshiya has the ability to drive at the same speed no matter which line he takes, except for his "Record-Breaking line" where he has an actual set line he drives when he unleashes his full potential. This is mainly because there are different timings for acceleration and deceleration for each line, which makes this possible, some braking later or some accelerating earlier. On a wider line, the gas usually comes sooner which makes up for the longer distance. Because you can't switch hands and you can barely counter-steer, most of your slide angle is also controlled by the pedals, which also explains God-Arm's ability to corner with a limited-steering angle. Ryosuke said that if Joshima's reliance on the technique was disrupted, Takumi would have a chance at victory. As the infamous "God Arm" spent 20 years on developing it and using it daily, reverting to a more-traditional method would serve as a massive disadvantage as Takumi's 5 year expertise on Four-Wheel drifting would prevail against it. When utilizing the "Record Breaking" line, Joshima Toshiya needs to utilize his tires to the maximum potential, staying on the edge of traction without losing it. With constant shifts in weight and power that maintain the angle of attack. Sorry For The Essay.

Really nice analysis mate. It’s better than most explanations I’ve seen that are more like ‘Fujiwara zone is magic’ lol. I agree fully in that the control in the steering is heavily reliant on the footwork, given that’s how you can shift the weight around. *Personally* I can drive most corners one handed if I wanted to, but I just keep 2 so that I can use the extra steering in my range if I need to. So I feel like his one handed technique is more of a mental check for him to focus on the control of his steering and pedal inputs. Otherwise you can totally achieve the same results 2 handed so long as you got the pedal control. You can check out my RX7 Akina World Record if you want, as the steering particularly in acceleration has to be as straight as possible to minimise wheelspin and sliding, so it demonstrates this concept of steering reliant on pedal input very well.

Lucky man was the best song to be used at the final episode. Dramatic and building up the tension and chills to see if Takumi could catch up to God Arm. You used the song great in this.
Damn this takes me back~ I remember my Tokyo Extreme Racer Drift 2 days. Where I built an lightly modded S2K N/A and on some mid level tires just to learn practice this. Spent months perfecting the tune to be able to drive the car on the edge of grip without completely breaking traction. Surprisingly... the anime wasn't to far off when it comes to how efficient it was speed wise. But holy shit if you were even slightly off on timing things could go so wrong so fast and throw off your whole Rhythm. The steering had to be smooth yet fast and precise. And you had to have super good throttle control to know when to lightly get on the accelerator or when to mash on it. Finding that perfect balance of modulating the throttle to fully maximize the tires and the right slip to carry full speed through corners without breaking into a full on drift. If you did it right even on a long course you could still have a fair bit of tire left. If you got it wrong.. You'd find yourself running out of tire by the second half of most courses. This driving style is super difficult.. its easier to learn it on high speed downhill courses with sweeping corners and few tight hairpins. But the time differences and tire efficiency are most noticeable on tighter touge's with a lot of sharp or quick transition corners.

So. How Toshiya Joushima said Takumi about driving with one hand? As I personally remember: Joushima said, that single-handed steering this is a very heavy ability, and back to Joushima He drive so smooth with one hand, but Takumi won the race, because Joushima got scared of blind attack. Let's see how Vegetable studio won't be scared in any situation. (I think, this is very big comment, what I ever wrote)

Noticed a mistake: The in-game tachometer only displays to 8,000 rpm. In reality, the first-generation S2000 (1999-2003) had a redline of 9,000 rpm. God Hand drove a 1999 S2000. The model shown is a 1999 - 2001 S2000 judging by the tail lights and the convertible top. So, the driver is not pushing the engine to max power. Often times, people who model the S2000 mistakenly use the second-generation's engine for the first generation.
