The Aston Vantage design just never seems to age on the outside. It looks absolutely timeless. Love how they went old school in most every way(hydraulic steering, manual gearbox, steel brakes), although for that kinda money, I think CC brakes should'v been standard.

I think its very interesting how most manufacturers have been trying to advance the technology to new levels so everything is fast (DCT, Carbon Ceramics, Twin turbo etc.) but what the people want is the old traditional options that give the car its personality. Great Video!

I guess there r people who don't understand that it's not just about numbers and 0-60 times and top speeds when it comes to a car like this. I just don't understand how some can compare the gt8 to gtr. yes the gtr is sooo much faster every but it doesn't sound even half as good as the gt8, even with an aftermarket exhaust. I'm not saying you can't make comparisons between the gt8 and other faster cars but it is kinda pointless, unless you r in the market for a new sports car and want to consider your options. I'm just glad that cars like these are still being made, even if they are not going to be around for long. cars like; c7 grand sport with a manual, Porsche 991.2 gt3 with a manual, Cayman gt4 with a manual, 17 camaro 1le with a manual, Shelby gt350/r with a manual and a couple others (thank God america still make manual sports cars)

And an Evo with engine mods is faster and cheaper than a GTR. Your point being? The GTR can be as fast as it wants, and boast as many numbers as it likes, neither will ever make it an Aston. Especially not THIS Aston. If you can't see the car for pure numbers and stats, you can't see its soul

I think this is the best looking Aston on the market right now. Aston has pivoted their market strategy. They're focusing their efforts toward the fun & thrill of the driving experience. In my eyes they were going the way of the dinosaur. Bulky, heavy, over priced, a fat V12 that had zero panache. This time they've turned it around and are finally on the right course

Please don't take this the wrong way, because I think this car looks and sounds fantastic. If this is the pinacle of the Aston Martin range, yet it's performance is quite a bit below many of it's rivals, is this Aston Martin turning it's back on the 'trend' of the modern super car and saying were going to build modern classics? For me personally, if the 'trend' is toward turbo charged auto everything cars, then i''m with Aston Martin all the way. ..as an 'edit' - except for not having enough cash of course :)

+Clous von,they do stop a little faster,cause the ceramic has a bit more friction,but the whole point of ceramic's is endurance...it take's a lot longer for them to fade en have a soft pedal,they stay consistent for a very long time and can take a lot more abuse then steel one's...
@onoff314
8 жыл бұрын
No they don't stop any faster at all. Braking is limited by tyre grip and suspension setup alluring to that grip not the brakes at this level
@jochem1986
8 жыл бұрын
I thought the difference was that carbon ceramic brakes are way better at heat management then steel brakes, which is why the latter overheat and fade much quicker. The trade off is that carbon ceramics need a longer time to get to operating temperature. And yes, the carbon ceramic disks last way longer.

i've always liked astons and this one is very close to the top of that list, but i could never understand why they lag the competition in terms of performance. i know that outright speed has never been their sole target, but 4.4 seconds to 60 with a 4.7L V8, all these weight savings, and considering this is supposedly a performance variant.. that's a bit shameful. that's barely as fast as a standard cayman.
