Full playthrough of the arcade game Astro Blaster. Released back in 1981 by Sega, the game features synthesized speech. This is version 2b of the game.
Halfway through the game I still not hearing my favorite line "Warp activated....10, 9, 8....."

My brothers, friends, and I used to ride our bikes down trails through the woods that led to a street that eventually led to a pizza shop where they had this game - and it was the only game they had. Sometimes we'd have just $1.50 in quarters stuffed in someones sock just for the six or seven of us to play this silly game for 15 minutes. Great memories that all of us still remember.

Whoever is playing this is a gosh darn Astro Blaster hero. I've read multiple times that this is considered the hardest arcade game ever. I played this game so much in the 80's and never even got to the second docking station. There's an Android version of this called Astro Smasher that is pretty much the same thing, and is hard as hell like the original. Thanks for uploading this!

@@GodSincerityStar It was definitely tech-assisted from level 2 to level 10, as the player was really average before level 2, then suddenly a 1-shot god to level 10, then average again.

ALSO, there was a harder version of this game. Each sector had one extra set of enemies in each sector. THIS version of Astro Blasters ha the GREEN SCREEN instead of the RED SCREEN @1:18. I'd like to see this guy beat THAT VERSION of Astro Blaster!

Check my other Astro Blaster gameplays. I have posted 5 different versions already, but not sure if I played the one you are writing about.

This game is a bit of a "Megamania" "Space falcon" hybrid if you ask me. I'd LOOOOOOOVE it if a games arcade came to Toowoomba with every gaming system and every game 🎮 (prototypes, failures and all) in it

The tough targets to nail are, the enemy starships that go diagonally. The person who played this game, did need to use warp speed. That's to slow down the enemy at first. 💅 😑 😫 😒 😩 😪 💅

I don't understand this playthrough - at the start he was pretty average, then at level 2 he was suddenly 1-shotting everything, with perfect play until level 7, then become terrible again. Was it 2 people playing, or a tech-assist?! Also, for someone that good, why did they keep missing the mothership bonus? (i.e. get lined up before the mothership appears, and not move at all to dock). Also, no use of the timewarp at all. I guess if you're 1-shotting everything it doesn't matter, but during level 1, and after 7, he really could have used it. One of my favourite ever games though - mostly because of the booming audio and speech in the arcade. It's brutally hard in some versions - I'd say virtually impossible to get past level 4 or so in the first version they released as fuel runs out too quickly.

I knew a guy in high school who was great at this game back in 1980 but nowhere near as good as this guy.
