That VRM temps using a downstream cooler looks like one more reason why I despise water cooling. A lot of tech channels do their VRM test using water cooling without any air going trough the VRMs, them declaring this or that board had bad VRM design.
@coreyisabigpushover

A lot of people don't think about this at all. The stock cooler for both Intel and AMD are designed to blow air downward onto the VRMs but tech reviewers rarely talk about this.
@michaelandrews4783

Many "enthusiasts" seem to have never asked themselves "why do stock cpu coolers blow downwards onto the motherboard? = to cool the vrms and other components. What allways makes me laugh is they liquid cool the cpu but let the vrms fry blissfully unaware they require airflow. Best solution for better cooling is simply a bigger stock air cooler.
@enlightendbel
Жыл бұрын
This is a double edged sword though. With any high level of intensity, you're just dumping hot air on the board and VRMs. Doing the minor investment of buying a decent tower cooler is practically always better, unless you're cramped on space, then you should experiment with turning the CPU coolers fan around to draw air up instead of blowing it down. Because this will often still provide some airflow over the VRMs, while exporting the hot air asap.

And I paired it with the 3700, which you suggested almost what you suggested. And reasonable graphics card, a 3060, I'm sure would count. So phew, I was probably just lucky. When you look on the top you see two mini chips in the SOC portion, which are the drivers. so next time remove the heatsink and look at the configuration. 6:50 you literally have CPU cooler blowing air down on VRM cooling it down. if you had tower cooler VRM would get more toasty. also heatsink temp is lower than mosfets temp - thats the whole point of heatsinks. you should remove heatsink and check your info about 6 phases, its 4+2 = 6, not 6+2. and SoC temps have nothing to do with Vcore VRM temps. so this little block of aluminum is good for more than 10C especially if you blow air on it.

Do you think an overcloked gpu is good for this mother board I’m going to have 3 fans in the front and I’m buying a spare one for the back

Hey I know this video is more than a year old, but i'm planning to build using this board and the stock AMD wraith prism cooler, just like in this video. Does anybody know if there will be clearance issue for the ram stick nearest to the cooler? I've tried to watch this video a couple of times but couldn't find my answer. Thanks in advance. Great video

It has onboard WiFi. That is huge to me. I can't be bothered to run ethernet cables everywhere. Nor notice a difference.

Does it make a big difference if I put my 980EVO on the bottom M.2 slot? I left the original WD SSD in the top one but I don't use that for boot.

If you could help would be great! I just got this motherboard and paired it up with a 5800x3d & rx6800xt, I used 4x 8gb 3200mhz corsair vengeance white argb ram, the pc ran with it running around 2100mhz but as soon as switched on xmp or even just manually switched the mhz to 3200, the pc would crash instantly after trying to boot and popped up with a system error and took me straight back to the bios. I removed 2 sticks so now it’s running absolutely fine, no crashes and is running xmp at 3200mhz, just would like to know how I could make the extra 2 sticks of ram work as I’m baffled to why it wouldn’t, just seems like a waste of money on the extra 2 sticks otherwise! Thanks if anyone knows the answer!
