@@dika7114 So the Steam Deck is a lot cheaper with the 64-gig variant, but you can always put in a micro-SD card to expand the storage. You also get a stable UI with the Deck and a good selection of optimized games with the green check mark. The Steam Deck is a really good handheld if you want a console like experience. the only major thing missing from the Steam Deck when it comes to the Ally is the Power and GamePass/Windows only games. I would say go for the Deck if these don't mean much to you. But if you want more power and a bigger selection of games the Ally just seems like the better pick. Hope this helps!

@@faristriesgamingtech Thank you for message! The power and performance of the device is important to me, I want to play new modern games with good FPS, I like the Asus Rog Ally in appearance, but I heard that games work poorly on it, there are constant shutdowns and crashes and it is simply impossible to play, I also heard that it can burn out. If the device works well and this is not true then I’ll probably buy it.
@faristriesgamingtech

@@dika7114 I have run into issues starting up games for the first time and I had to change a setting or something to get it running properly on the Ally, which on the Steam Deck I maybe only ran into 1 game like that, and it was a "playable" game not an "optimized" one. But I completely understand your concerns the Allys quality could be better when compared to the Steam Deck in my opinion.

You're better off upgrading the SSD. I really can't believe that a big company like ASUS didn't pickup the Micro SD issue at the product testing phase. The system de-recognises it when the device gets too hot. I ended up upgrading to a 2TB SSD. Quite a straightforward process. I feel like the biggest advantage Steam has is the price and community support. It's a well optimised system even if the hardware isn't as strong on paper vs ROG Ally. Personally, I prefer the Ally also. Hopefully newer games will implement FSR 3.0 which will future proof these handhelds.
@faristriesgamingtech

Yeah, it is pretty shocking that the micro-SD issue went unnoticed by Asus. The 2TB SSD upgrade is what I'm looking to do as well. Also, it'll be very nice to see how FSR 3.0 influences these handhelds. Happy Gaming!

Ive been close to getting the ally to try it out. I have and love my steam deck for everything to mentioned, but I do like playing AAA single player games that can tax the deck. I beat cyperpunk completely on the deck at around 40fps consistently, but other games are around 30-40 fps with dips and stutters and i cant really get it to look like i want it. I dont like a lot about the ally BUT the performance is the important part, and I dont mind messing with settings to really get it running good. I can get a z1 extreme for $450 right now and im big tempted

Well done. For me it is Steam Deck for the win. It is not as powerful as the Ally but it is really well optimized and feels great in the hand. It is such a great value for what you get. I feel like Valve did a great job of balancing price, performance and battery life. I bought the 64 GB version on sale and just upgraded the SSD to a 1 TB SSD and I have a 1 TB micro SD card. As of 9/15/23, new Steam Decks are on sale again on Steam. Price is a huge issue right now especially is in this economy. I also have an official Steam Deck dock. Between this and my Switch I am set with my "modern" gaming set up and the fact these 2 systems are portable is just insane.

@@faristriesgamingtechI got my Steam Deck on sale and even that was a stretch for me especially in this economy but seeing how it also doubles as a PS4 or PS5 for me there is a lot of value for money there in addition to being able to play many games I already own. Plus my micro SD card works with no problems. I heard about the issues with the Ally and deleting or not playing micro SD cards due to heat issues. If I was able to pay what the Ally costs and that happened to me I know I would be mad. It really looks like a design flaw and I hope Asus does the right thing and redesigns the placement of the micro SD card reader away from the exhaust vent. All in all it really is an incredible time to be a gamer and I take none of it for granted. Again, great job and keep up the great work.

@@DarkShadow6799 I mean I guess it depends what you're looking for but that's kind of the point. There are always updates to the tech both big and small ones. Nothing major has come along to make the current tech worth buying in my opinion. This is still technically first generation ish technology in terms of the steam deck. I usually say hold off until it's more refined as a rule of thumb one of the big reasons why I don't see any reason to rush and get a foldable either. Not worth the early adoption price.
