I have the same exact problem. In my case, it is a bad unit. I'm installing it in a 2004 Jeep. I have made all the proper connections and it will not go into "program mode." I walked over to my 2000 Jeep and swapped out the unit. The old unit works fine. Therefore all connections are good, all steering wheel controls are working. I put the new unit back in and it goes through the start up sequence and will not go into program mode. I put the new unit in my old Jeep and same thing, a No Go. It's a bad unit.

I read the instructions over and over again, but it still was not working. Long story short, I need to ground an extra wire in the cars wiring harness. ( this was for a 2007 honda) {Connect the Black of the ASWC-1 AND!!!! the wire in Pin 11 of the vehicle’s radio harness shown, to Chassis Ground.} Once i did this i got it working. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Isn't pin 11 hot meaning current running through it? If so then black wire of aswc-1 and pin 11 go grounded together to chassis?

Mine did the exact thing. Read instructions and it worked perfect Flashing red/green means its ready to program 7 green flashes means its seeing if your wires are connected Red flashes mean the type of radio connected it should go solid red after the above is done. If you hold or tap the Raise volume button on the steering wheel in the beginning/first step while red/green is flashing and stop touching button on wheel after fast flashes stop and let module do its thing All should be fine at the end with a solid red led. Cycle the key off and back on and ya DONE I even updated my module, reset it and reprogrammed it.. niiiiice and clean.

And did it work? It’s just that I have that problem but the controls don’t grab me... I have a 2012 Toyota Prius version 2 and it won’t let me use the controls yet... please... I’ve been trying all day and I don’t see a useful video or explanation

I connected the red with the red, and the black with the black (or should I connect it to the chassis or to the ground of the vehicle?) I don’t know the difference... besides, what other cable should I use to connect it to the system?
