This is such a beautiful piece. I LOVE it. I wonder if Mr. de Meij realizes that he has written probably the most technically challenging clarinet part in the history of concert band music. I'm performing this in mid-March, and I"m going to need dozens of hours of work on this to get those last 2 pages up to performance tempo. I look at it this way; at the end of the day, my technique will be that much stronger.. and.. if I can play this, I can play ANYTHING!

I remember my band director bringing this piece back for us to learn and perform after performing it here. It's the most technically challenging piece we ever played but it was so worth it. Thank you Johan de Meij. Also, If you are in this video and are watching this from china you probably were my band director, thank you so much.

my band teacher is one of the owners of this piece of music and he gave this to us to sight read today in class.........AND BASICALLY WE DIED. the clarinets actually just gave up at the end, we all got lost and could only play 1 note per 10 measures. i love this piece though. but i don't understand how the soprano sax did that solo... THE GUYS PLAYING THE XYLOPHONES WERE BEAST HAHAHAHA.

I've played half these tunes on my pennywhistle... But, hey, congrats for playing the most awesome instrument anyone in concert band is allowed to play.

I'm sorry m8... I had to dislike because apparantly the Clarinet is the "the most awsome instrument anyone in concert band is allowed to play".... no..... Oboe is cooler... and then there's the English horn (unbeleavelbly sexy to play...) and the uillean pipes were REALY cool when we played it ^^

The English horn is not so sexy, it's the player who makes it so.
