Good find! I picked up an Atari 2600 Jr, in the early 90's. When Atari was starting to get rid of a lot of there games(2600) and systems. Big Lots started carrying a lot of the games and systems. The games(Brand New) were selling for: $1.00 a piece and the systems were selling for:$19.95. Great times to pick up these items!

We didn't have Big Lots back then, but I've heard other people say they got games for a dollar there.

Now that is an amazing finding! Atari is one of the few consoles that I would consider emulation not detracting a lot from the nostalgia factor but if I ever get into collecting it I surely would go for something like that or a regular 2600.

I thought this was great. So a few things- C64 was the first computer my family had, and I have many fond memories of it. I just order a C64 Mini, so very excited. I cant say I've ever found such a treasure at a good will. I can say, today, I was helping my Mom-in-Law and found a bag with a full atari and several games. I didnt get a good look at it, but I'm hoping to be able to. All the best Mr. Weiss!

I bought a 2600 Jr about a year ago from a guy on Instagram, but I couldn't get it to play games correctly, even after cleaning the console, so I sold it to the local video game store. I generally never find good deals at Goodwill, but last Sept when my sister and I were in OKC, I found one of those Goodwill stores that sell stuff by weight, and I found several empty video game cases. Since they were for disc-based systems or like the DS, they were really light and I got them mega-cheap. I'll eventually buy the loose game discs and cards to put in them, since they usually go online for a low price.

BTW: Some of them actually shipped in late 83, early 84 in a different box before the Tramiel purchase. The product was designed mid 82 when we cut up the plastic of a 2600 on our lab bandsaw one Sunday night looking for a way to conceptually cut product costs. Code name was "Bonnie" for the product and in response to that terrible "VAL" product you can find in the National Video Game Museum.

I got a Jr at this past Black Friday at Game Over, so I can store away my 4 switcher and save some much needed space. Love this little system! Also this past week, I came across a Sears Telegames at Goodwill, and my jaw dropped when I saw the price they were asking; $150!! And there I was, thinking I FINALLY found something other than complete garbage at a Goodwill for once... lol

I have been gaming since 1978 at the late age of 17. Very few systems that I haven't owned one being the 2600. I always found the Odyssey 2 and Intellivision more interesting and most my friends had the 2600 so I played it plenty.

That console is nice and crispy fresh. Nice find. Hmm so many goodwill finds. Well lets just go thrift in general. I scored an SNES with a bunch of games for $8 in a church basement thrift store. I originally asked if there were any old games or systems and he said no. On my way out the dude came running around the corner yelling HOLD UP! Is this what you are looking for? Yes indeed it was. Asked how much he wanted and he said $8. I think I left the full $10 and left. The games were all top shelf too. Can't remember them all but I do know Super Metroid, Mario Kart, Mega Man X, F Zero and Mario World were in there among others.

Times changed because a Junior is around 35-50 bucks now. Only 2600 that's around 200 with out a ton of extras is a Sunnyvale heavy sixer which was the very first models from back in 77
