Thank you, for the positive athiesism conversation. I have been a bit depress about my disconnection with so much religious spirituaty around me. I try to be compassionate in spite of their spite.

The whole aim of religion is to control God. We try to train him to be nice to us and get rid of our problems. And we are willing to pay "experts" to keep convincing us that this all makes sense. These experts are very happy to be paid, because it means they don't have to get a proper job.

Why is blood so important in theology ? The ancient Bible guys loved to sprinkle blood and many Christians drink blood. Why ?

Because to them the discovery that the "life of the flesh is in the blood" seemed like it explained everything, genetics, fortune or misfortune, life, death, etc. Blood being the thing in all animals tied everything and explained everything. Even god is explained by blood. Adam and Eve's sin is passed by blood, Abel's blood calls out to god, Jesus' sacrifice is an offering of blood.

Why do we have speed limits on public roads ? Is it to annoy drivers ? Or is it to improve safety for road users ?

The religious wouldn't usually see the matter as casual as that. To them it's a matter of life and death.

"Shoddy craftsmanship" is almost a contradiction in it's own terms: shoddy work wouldn't be craftsmanship.

Imagine someone in a sound proof room, praying quietly to Jesus. Remember that Jesus died 2000 years ago. And his soul now lives outside space and time. Is it possible for jesus to hear the prayer ?

ethics is objective because it is essentially strategizing about facts of the matter.

First, what does that mean? The way I read your statement you seem to prove the opposite of your point. If it's strategizing (that would be subjective) about the facts of the matter (that would be "the situation") Situational ethics are relative. Relative is subjective. Subjective is not objective.

For some reason I find Jen incredibly attractive. Not that she is not attractive, but rather, I cannot even explain what exactly it is about her I find so over the top appealing. Oh well, I'll just enjoy.

starcrafter13terran Well, if you're a guy, I'd say it's much like how we girls seem to be unusually attracted to the hot gay guys! 🔥😏💜 (Being a girl, I love her too!)

Which caller? News flash. We're not listening along with you. Why share a thought about a specific caller...and not specify the caller?
