A lot of boats are family run. Others have had the same crew for years. Its very very hard to get a position because the pay is high.

Try and get on one of the smaller boats, day trips. Not the 5 week commercial boats, too much work for mediocre pay.

@@whoopigoldberg9956 5 weeks on one here in Canada, at shrimp or crab you get over 20k, probably 15 starting out though.

@@haphazardprism Yes, here in Norway it's around the same. The shifts/brakes are just too damm short (6hr/6hr) for this kinda work/pay imo. In the faroe islands and Iceland, you get atleast 8 hours rest, 8 hour work. Just something you gotta consider if you are new to this, it's hard work.

Cleaner Ant, Maybe you can find some at your local Fish market....I don’t think you will get live Crab, as it is cooked before packaged...But if you want to eat it a lot, Red Lobster (The Restaurant) serves it! Hope I can help you!

The music ruins the video. It would be much easier to hear what is said without it.

- 1:33 Definitely not as fresh as it gets. Theres boats that have factories on them and can process it as soon as it is caught.

Seeing as the crab is still alive when they sell, it's as fresh as it gets. And factory fishing is not something you want to support. It's kind of a blight on the fishing industry, like factory farming on land. It maximizes economic efficiency but reduces jobs and focuses money into the hands of a few corporations rather than fishermen. Fewer people are out there making a fraction of a percentage of the catch and working non-stop for months.
