I really like the more historical side of wargaming -- and the solo mode from Ben Knight suits my current situation. The historical basis of the Atlantic Campaign seems better served by playing as the Allies -- i.e., defending convoys against Axis threats -- than as the Axis. I'll be trying a chronological approach (also covered in the rules) to better represent the history. I presume this will change the game dynamics, as cards will be more likely to be played. I'm also contemplating other changes to meet my preferences, including how the Axis AI could be more coordinated over the 3 sub-turns.

Great thought. I also prefer to play as allies in the chronological solo version!

Just saying that I played with the same new solo rules with the old version of Atlantic Storm (Avalon Hill) and it worked perfectly. Lost as usual 😀

Hey Dan. You may want to check out Pacific Typhoon also by Ben Knight. It is basically the same game as Atlantic Storm but in a different setting. You should be able to apply the Atlantic Storm solo rules to Pacific Typhoon as well.

20:42 I think the Allies had a value of 9 after the final draw against your 10. So they would not have committed to the battle right?
