Should you buy one and is it worth it?
I purchased my own Atomos Shogun Inferno almost exclusively for the HDR functionality. Obviously my recordings will also be of a higher caliber as well.
If you shoot static footage (interviews, slow moving shots etc) and don't shoot a lot of 60fps, this unit won't give you $1300 worth of quality increases. If you also don't shoot in LOG you'll be missing out of a lot of this devices features.
Finally, if you want a smoother workflow, ProRes makes things so much easier from an editing standpoint especially if you use Adobe Premiere.
