It is not stainless steel, you can not hardened SS by this method

AEB-L is indeed stainless steel. My steel is sourced from an industry-leading supplier and comes with certificates of conformity. You can get some for yourself. www.alphaknifesupply.com/shop/aeb-l-stainless-steel And the stainless steel does harden very successfully based on methods described here: knifesteelnerds.com/2019/03/04/all-about-aeb-l/ This method is not appropriate for all types of stainless steel. It is important to understand the chemical composition of the steel you are working with and use heat treatments specifically required for that steel.

You CAN harden SS using a gas forge, it's just very difficult to do it well and with repeatability. He is correct the AEB-L is a true stainless steel. In his video he says using a heat treating oven would be preferable, but if this is all you have, especially if you are making knives for your own use, there is nothing wrong with doing it this way.

How easy it was to wash off afterwards? I'm looking for an anti scale coating that can be removed with a inmersion-pressure washer.

It was stuck to the steel pretty hard. I had to use a wire wheel and sandpaper to get all of it off. It comes off about twice as easy as forge scale, but that still leaves you a lot of clean up in the end.
