Full Fandub here: • Attack on Titan: Eren'...
Sub: You get a very resentful feeling from Yuki Kaji in this scene, it really highlights how much anger and frustration he puts into Eren as a character, usually this anger is being projected toward others, but here we get to see the result of it turning on himself, especially highlighted by the painful sounding scream at the end.
Dub: Bryce maintains this general feeling of Eren's frustration at his lack of power, but instead of projecting anger, he expresses this more through sorrow, wallowing in his failure more so than scolding himself. The scream also highlights this, not as rough sounding as the sub, it again strengthens the idea that this was taken in a more depressing direction.
Fandub: I chose to go more in the direction of anger for this one, purely because I think it personifies Eren the best as a character,
While he does show his sorrowful side a few times throughout the show, I think it's safe to say that people mainly associate him with anger and hatred toward the things that hurt him and the ones he cares about (this can be said of the sub and dub), except of course this scene reveals that what he truly hates is his inability to fight back in any effective way, and that's what i attempted to capture.
