Linked Horizon is brilliant with motif and some of the best at sound design. This song is le pièce de résistance to the whole Attack on Titan series. It pulls bits and pieces from previous songs, builds upon them, adds new motifs to each one - giving the feeling of tying up the songs. Truly a song to signify the ending of an era. It pulls you in like a flashback, reliving the moments of the series. Absolutely love this song and how you highlighted the sections.

@@DrumRollTonyReacts It was pretty apparent to me with season 1 in 2013 it would be a non stop pace where you'd go insane waiting for the next season, and knowing how manga adaptations work a show can very quickly outpace the material production so I stopped watching before the end of the first season and just binged the whole thing in the last couple weeks. no ragraets. I think this one of the first, if not only anime ever to have OP/EDs so closely tied to the story that they are kind of integral to the fabric and texture of the content. Anime themes have always been promo material for the artists doing them before they have relevance to the anime they are attached to. In most themes, the lyrics only have a general relevance to the show, maybe suggesting some themes or emotions evoked in the show. AoT music (score and lyrics) is 100% symbiotic with the show.
