Wow, I'm glad I randomly stumbled onto your Bergen video and clicked on the next one. Absolutely love everything about this, it's well made, fun to watch, inspiring while keeping it real and as down to earth as you can at 2469 meters above sea level...:D

For those who are a bit more comfort creatures I can highly recommend staying at Raubergstulen and joining a guided tour without the skis, glacier will be traversed in rope with crampons as needed, the rest is just hiking. The new dining room with panoramic views and lounge with the fireplace is such a nice atmosphere. We went on a family package with guided tour and found it extremely enjoyable and _somewhat_ affordable.

Hi, I have been up there twice walking from Spiterstulen (No skies req) First day it was a total blizzard, got to the top, and saw nothing. Next day. beautiful clear skies, got to the top, stunning. Then got bad sunburn and sunstroke but so, so worth it. Great video, great memories, thank you

Well done! Impressive that you managed to finish with those huge large blisters on your feet. And yes, 'brunost' means brown cheese. The whey from either cow's milk or goats milk is cooked down to a caramel, and then they add milk and cream from either of the two types back to it. Sweet and lovely. Glad you enjoyed it, and sorry that no Norwegians stopped and picked you up. We teach our kids that hitch-hiking is dangerous, so we have to live what we teach them ;-)

Thank you! Ohhhh yes brunost is just an amazing invention, thank you for breaking it down for me 😁 I feel super lucky I got to experience it all and I did get picked up by Norwegians, some locals hehe they were lovely but I can understand the danger, we have the same feeling in Canada 😁

You can just walk sideways with the skies if your not comfortable with straigt downhill. or downhill and turning to controll speed. allso the last bot thats farely strightforward, is the best way to ski :) you just stand and you feet and glide along.

@@NatashaBergen iam from norway. I do downhill Telemark skiing, cross country skiing, and alpine/normal slalom skiing, in much steaper hill's. The end bit there looked perfect for just standing and gliding down. Only issue is the mountain skiis are slow, so speed will be slow, due to the grabbing lair under them for uphill walking. It's directional, but still glides poorly forward.

According to what is becomming customary; this is a very good distraction from a life less exciting. Thank you for posting. I am fairly certain that this is known to most, however... being somewhat of a habitual mansplainer 😊... (aware and work is in progress)... Thing to prevent blisters: -Keep your feet and socks dry. Change socks and air/dry your feet if/when possible. -Use a thin pair of socks (like nylon) that does not crease, under a "normal" pair of socks of wool or mixed fabrics/synthetics. Avoid cotton, as it more readilly absorbs moisture. -If possible do not use new shues. (a bit paradoxical... no?) -Use a fat foot cream/salve the day/evening before a hike, to reduce hard spots. I prefere to be corrected, than to be blissfully wrong, so please do.

One interesting part you didn't tell. How long time it took to ski & walk up to the top? And how long time it took to come down? I'm guessing it was something like 1,5 hours to go up?
@NatashaBergen
Жыл бұрын
Oooo that’s a good one! So in total it was about 5 hours which is surprising because trying to ski down that glacier felt like a billion years. Im honestly not sure how long either way but after the glacier it was about 3-4km of hiking in the snow since I wanted out of those skis 😂🤣
