Cool! Looks like a Hella 90mm projector from the side.

looks really good. otherwise you could place two lamps on the upper left and right corner of the gauge external like the gauge lights of a piper archer

That's right, it's built that way in many planes. I only found it easier when the lighting was mounted in the instrument.

Hi, a very ingenious design and I understand about the telephone connector to power the centre drum but I don't see where the cable joins the motor? could you perhaps please explain?

@@schillerevent I know that this is a little old, but I'm starting to make some gauges. I too can't see how you wired the inside stepper motor. I've sent you an email about it, also.

Great design... how did you rig the centre stepper motor so that you could rotate infinitely?
@schillerevent

Quite simple: unravel a phone cable. This nice part can turn inadvertently and power the engine. www.amazon.de/Telefon-Kabelentwirrer-Telefonkabel-Entwirrer-Spiralkabel-Kabelverdrehen/dp/B007UHV8G6

Excellent design and craftsmanship! Would you please share how do you home (bring to 0 at start-up) the steppers - no optical or magnetic sensor or other switch is visible from the video? Thank you!

This is relatively easy with mobiflight. The pointer is set to zero once, then mobiflight counts the steps.

Hello love your instruments do you have any for sale?
@schillerevent
4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it is not for sale. The instrument has not been tested enough. It's an experimental and just this prototype. I think it's not suitable for sale. It sells too little and it is very expensive.

I really appreciate the effort in this but it also illustrates just why LED displays catch on. They're like a prostitute..."I'll be whatever you want me to be honey!" Personally though, I prefer to read analogue displays but these of course can be simulated on an LED display. Did anyone offer 2" round LED panels that are really cheap like the little OLED displays? But seriously, nice work, I need to get a laser cutter next :)
