Thanks for watching! The title (and the closing thoughts in the video) comes from the thought that Audeze has always had the tech and means to produce something this competent at this price point, but instead focused on selling much pricier products to some buyers who likely could've been perfectly happy with something like the Maxwell.

Are there any issues regarding the build quality? Saw some pictures on reddit that the headband is breaking after 4-6 months. Update: I received my Audeze Maxwell and they are great. Can we just appreciate the fact this man has a whopping 140 comments (Now 141 at the time of writing this) and he's nearly replied to all of them? The title initially kind of threw me off since I was almost expecting this to be a video bashing on the product, but it seemed to be quite the opposite, clickbait maybe? It worked. I'm an upcoming streamer & music producer in the market for some new headphones, my previous headset being the Arctis 9 from SteelSeries. And I think i might be sold on these ones, they may just be that balance between audiophile & gaming that I've been looking for. And hopefully it's paired with some comfortability for those long gaming & production hours.

Be sure to check your Maxwell (if you end up getting one) for potential defects while you're still in warranty/return period. Random QC issues do crop up on these. Also my title is based on my conclusion that Audeze had the tech and means to make a $300 headphone this awesome all this time, but instead sold thousand dollar models to build its coffer. That's the cynic in me talking, lol. Thanks for watching!

I currently have Astro A50’s for my Xbox series x. I have an Elgato capture device that I like to record to when playing sometimes. The issues with Xbox and wireless headsets is they don’t send the game chat audio back through HDMI. Only game sounds and party chat. You can only record game chat with a wired headset using an adapter to run to the external capture card. With this Audeze set having a 3.5 port would I be able to play with them wired when I wanted to record and then wirelessly when I’m not recording? I enjoy the freedom of wireless headphones but I would like the feature of being able to play wired for recording game chat purposes with out having to have two different sets of headphones. Would really appreciate your input.

@@gearupaaron right! My Astro A50s do not have an option to use a cord as they have no port for a 3.5. Although if this doesn’t have a mix amp it probably will not work. Ideally what I need is a usb from my Xbox to a mixamp then a 3.5 from the mixamp to the headphones with a splitter also going to my capture card. It’s just very annoying the way Xbox doesn’t allow the capture of game chat with out it being a wired headset.

The Clamping force is high. For me any headset that in it's resting position and the ear cups touch at the bottom is always too high. This one is the same as those. There are also aftermarket replacement cooling gel ear pads that make it more even comfortable. So i just got these after a long re-search what to buy in a budged of around 300 Euros. I used G335 before, so i expected a huge step up. Honestly im a bit dissapointed, i like them, quality is awesome, looks great etc.. Sound out of the box is very flat and my ears seem to be very sensitive to that kind of profile, when playing CS2 gun sounds are so loud and it hurts your ears, i had to drop the volume to like 65% so the gunshots dont blow my ears everytime i shoot a gun ( yes there is a few profiles in software for bass, footsteps etc.. but high notes still pierce through my ears) , my old 50 euros G335 are better then these for playing CS2 or some other FPS game ( and its decent enough for bass and deep sound with some tunning) , cause you can hear the steps much more clear, and locate the enemys position by the sound much better then these. and the high notes dont blow your ears off . Software is good and it helped a lot to bring the bass and more of a deep sound (its how i like it ) with EQ. So out of the box sound and preformance was bad for my taste, after some tunning its good. I realy wanted to try out these planar drivers, but im not amazed by them for the sound and gaming even less. I think its just way overhyped and its nothing special, you could prob get similar or better sound with tuning some lower end headphones. So yeah i honestly dotn understand why people praise these so much, makes me wonder what would fit me best, i also looked at many others like ( Logitech G PRO X2 LIGHTSPEED, STEELSERIES Arctis Nova Pro, HYPERX Cloud III, Wireless, Audio-Technica - ATH-M50xSTS, beyerdynamic DT 700 PRO X, beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X, beyerdynamic MMX 300 2nd Gen ). I made a decision on these mostly on reviews, and this sites rating. Also i love music i spend a lot of time in my life listening to music, all sorts of styles. I have Edifier 1855db speakers, and i feel like i could have just gotten something much cheaper, and keep listening music through my Edifier speakers.

MMX300 from Beyer is also awesome as a wired gaming headset, for those who want a bit more high end in my opinion. But i would say G PRO X2 if FPS gaming is your top priority, and you dont mind the mic on them. But i see your channel is more based for the audio type of audience.

I have friends who hate ear buds because of their discomfort… I however love them. What I’m saying is, everyone is different. Seems like these headphones just aren’t meant to be for you.

Please don't say "We've been Gyped." It's a racist term against the Romani people. It is literally like saying someone "Jewed me down" on the price. I'm sure you didn't know but as NBC morning cartoons told us in the late 1980s and early 1990s, "The more you know."
