Thank you a lot. It is very useful that you showed the tools needed (in particular torx T45) as I was confused by the other resources. After watching your video I went and got the tools and I replaced my pads

This is the best video I found for the Audi A4 B9 (mine is 2017) front brakes. Thank you. If you could show us the rear brakes with the e brake hack…please 🥴

Thank you 😎 As for the rear, disconnect (unplug) the power supply to the electric parking brake motor ( at the hub you're working on). It is a 12v supply that simply winds on or winds off the parking brake. The ECU/module provides either +or- as required. All you need to do is feed 12v into the disconnected plug (hub side..... NOT ECU/module side!!!! ). You'll figure out the polarity needed by trial and error. Wind the mechanism back. Do the pad change. Then wind the mechanism back on before reconnecting back to the ECU/module.

Thanks. New to Audi and glad I can service my own breaks.

Thanks did this to my A4 last year and now needing to do it to my A5 so needed a refresher, hopefully it’s the same process. Only thing I noticed was I needed to open my break fluid cap when pushing the piston in and make sure it didn’t overflow. Then top up as you pump breaks again ever so slightly.

Hi how do you change the rear brake pads on Audi a4 b9 with electric brake? Thanks

Officially you are meant to plug in an obd tool to instruct the car to wind the electronic parking brake mechanism back...... However ... I unplugged the mechanism and applied 12v directly to wind it back, did the pads, then reversed the voltage to reapply the brake. Ensure you power the mechanism plug, NOT the half of the plug that goes back to the cars brains! Apologies, I keep meaning to put this very video out.

5:14, just about to slap em back in, but confused as to what you’re doing at this point

@ 5:14 I'm wire brushing off the old brake dust residue from the brake pad carriers and would have given the calipers a brush down too .... sorry but most of that hit the editing room floor as it's not riveting viewing 🤣

Where do I get those break pads? They keep giving me the wrong ones.

I use Eurocarparts and GSF. They provide parts based on your registration number. I've always found them to be accurate. Then of course you have the option of going to an Audi dealership.

Check the "PR" Codes on the sticker inside the cars book. These will match up with fitment codes on parts websites (Codes like 1LA 1LC etc)

Its a Feb 2018 car, my understanding is that makes it a B9. The facelifts, the B9.5, were in 2019, with B9s starting from 2016.

you don't own an Audi if you can't tell what this is. It is B9
