This was hands down the most simple and easy to follow video on replacing car parts. Like it was kinda nice that it was dark because The flash light kept the focus on the necessary areas. Well done fr, thanks for the run down!

Ok so a few things from someone who followed this guide successfully. 1.) Don't close your trunk after disconnecting the negative terminal from your battery. The trunk is electric in my case and i spent a lot of extra time figuring out how to manually open my trunk to get back to the battery. I had to pry up my back seat to get to a little cable. 2.) When reattaching the 4 bolts to the alternator, do the bottom ones first and don't tighten them all the way. Guy in the video says do the top first but I did that and my bottom wasn't lined up and I couldn't see down there to fix it. Do the bottoms first and you can see perfectly how to line up the top since there is more visibility on the top bolts. Other than that, the guide was excellent. Best I could find.

you could have simply hooked up a battery charger to the terminals under the hood, this would be sufficient to open the trunk.

You guys are geniuses! This was the First time I ever took an alternator out by myself, and the only reason I did is because I stumbled across your video! thank you for telling me the three tools that I needed, everything went just as smooth as you did it! I really appreciate you guys much love from South Carolina! My 2011 Audi A5 said it really appreciate y'all! You guys saved me a ton of money as well! The shop tried to charge me $500 for this simple alternator replacement!

Did you do a diagnostic to be sure whether it was just the Voltage Regulator or the pulley was making noise? Cause that would be a huge give away that it’s best to replace the whole alternator! Cause my first sign goes back a few weeks ago, car randomly wouldn’t start after stopping to pick up some food (giving that info so you know it was a short stop), after it finally started, it didn’t happen again for like 4 weeks now until I noticed some weird noises when I accelerate. Then yesterday after driving for exactly 2 mins away from my place, I get the “alternator not charging battery” then about every other malfunction happened: gearbox went to neutral even tho shifter was on D, ESP deactivated… it was a lot, finally car dies (important to note that I’ve never had battery problems with this car, drove it for 2 years now). Moments later I get it jumped, it starts and 💡: alternator definitely the problem. It dies shortly after. And now it’s completely dead unless I jump it or have a trickle charger hooked up.

Man I have to admit when the video started in the dark I was like, I know this ain't going to good. BUT NO it was the best repair video ever. Very informative I wish I saw this before I broke down 5 days ago. I had it towed NOW my A4 is seating at a garage and they're pulling my chain like it's rocket science. I'm pissed and I'm about to have it towed to my house and I'll do it my damn self. Thanks and the video it was the best I've seen on youtube so far. Hands down
