Hey Smokey, we're happy you're part of the Potenza Drive family! 🔥🔥🔥 Unfortunately, playing audio over Bluetooth will always be delayed (0.5 to 2 seconds). This limitation is imposed by the devices (hardware) and not by the app (software) itself. Hopefully in the future Google will allow us to stream audio from our app directly to the Android Auto system. For those looking for real-time sounds, we advise you to use an FM Transmitter as a workaround. Thank you so much for appreciating this noise, we spent many weeks working on it! 👌 Android devices allow you to use up to about 7 connections at the same time. So you can use your smartphone to connect to your OBD-II ELM327 Bluetooth adapter and your car radio. Regarding newer cars not having AUX input, it's a reality that makes us sad. As we know, Bluetooth has: ❌ Audio delay: perfect for listening to music, but bad for the Potenza Drive, which needs real-time sound. ❌ Worse audio quality: Because codecs apply compression to the audio signal, worsening its audio quality. Read our FAQ in the description of this video, we have some tips on how to get around the fact that you don't have the possibility to use AUX cable.

Hey Jay, we are glad that you enjoy our work! 🤩 In this video you can see that we are not using AUX cable. If your car radio has Bluetooth, you can always play audio through it. With an Android smartphone, you can use it to simultaneously connect via Bluetooth with: 1. Car radio 2. OBD-II ELM327 (Bluetooth) adapter Regarding newer cars not having AUX input, it's a reality that makes us sad. Bluetooth is known for: ❌ Audio delay: Which can range from 0.5 to 2 seconds. Perfect for listening to music, but bad for the Potenza Drive, which needs real-time sound. In this video, as the smartphone is high-end and the car radio is modern, they "negotiated" a fast Bluetooth audio protocol. And although, not being real-time audio, it showed very good results. ❌ Worse audio quality: Because codecs apply compression to the audio signal, worsening its audio quality. If you want to get around this, you can always use an FM transmitter. The audio quality may also decrease a bit, but at least the bass sounds are better preserved. How to pop-bang sound?I have potenza drive
@PotenzaDrive
Жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the sounds of Pop & Bang? 🧨🔥 The Potenza Drive app already comes with these sounds by default. 😃 To trigger these sounds you need: 1) In the app go to TUNE < POP & BANG < DRIVING MODE < RACE. [Select this mode, it's more sensitive and triggers the Pop & Bang more often]. 2) In the app, go to TUNE < RPM < RPM Redline. [Adjust the RPM redline according to your car. Note: If you decrease this value, it will activate the Pop & Bang more easily (but it may sound more artificial)]. 3) Drive more aggressively! - It helps to get better results. Accelerate hard at high RPMs and release the accelerator pedal immediately.] If you have any further questions or need help 🧯 please contact us: support@potenzadrive.com

Жыл бұрын
Well, that's totally possible and we'll explain below how you can do it. 👇👇👇 But first let us say that it's no wonder we don't have this functionality available, as it doesn't work on all vehicles. 👀 Some CAN-BUS blocks any communication even before starting the car's engine, so it's not possible to communicate anything via OBD-II. Therefore, as soon as you start the car's engine, there would be no information to be read by the app to simulate the sounds. If your vehicle allows this, what we suggest is: 1) Place the key in the "ON/Ignition" position. 2) In the Potenza Drive app, select the car sound you want, press the "START/STOP ENGINE" button and wait for it to turn red. 3) Put the key in the "Start" position. This way, the sounds start playing as soon as the engine is started. 🥳 For any additional questions, please contact us at: support@potenzadrive.com

My Vgate iCar Pro which should also have a genuine ELM327 chip will arrive by Wednesday - do you think it'll work well for Realtime generation, without the "RPM steps" when shifting or pressing on the throttle? My phone and sound system will be fine, since my phone has one of the fastest chipsets available and my car has a Bose system with subwoofer. Though I'd have one wish for the pop and bangs: Because it's the same sound with every pop it sounds kind of... repetitive. @PotenzaDrive
Жыл бұрын
@@smokey4049 the delay will always depend on your setup (set of devices). First of all, to get real-time car sounds and better experience, you need to have the following requirements: ✅ OBD-II protocol: Vehicle with ISO 15765-4 CAN protocol. ✅ OBD-II adapter: Higher quality devices offer faster and provide stable communication. ✅ Android device: Powerful device to be able to keep all the communication running effectively, and be able to keep up the algorithms to generate car sounds in real-time. ✅ Sound System: A sound system with large speakers (especially for BASS). A powerful amplifier with equalizer (EQ) calibration for BASS boost (increased experience). ✅ AUX cable: This is the only way to play real-time audio. 2 жыл бұрын
Hey KeremerS, actually only a Bluetooth adapter will work with the Potenza Drive app. 🧐 At the beginning of this project we also debated about the topic Bluetooth vs Wi-Fi vs USB. And in the end we decided on Bluetooth due to the following facts: 👉 It can save 10 times more battery life on your smartphone: As the app is very intensive in terms of communication, the battery while using Wi-Fi would drain the battery really quick. Worse would be by USB because the adapter (client mode) would be draining the cell phone battery (host mode). 👉 Internet access on your smartphone: When Wi-Fi is turned on, you cannot use the Internet from your smartphone (Mobile Data). Therefore, you cannot use other apps while driving that require Internet access, such as GPS Navigation (Google Maps, Waze) and Music streaming (Spotify, TuneIn, Deezer, Pandora). 👉 Cheapest adapters: They are without a doubt the cheapest adapters. Depending on what you're willing to pay, but it can be something so affordable that it can start at €3/$3/£3.

@PotenzaDrive
Жыл бұрын
Hey, you have a legitimate problem and we want to emphasise that unfortunately it's not as easy to address as we would like. But we're going to try to give you some insight into why the Potenza Drive app may sound low in volume. 🤗🔉 Unlike other apps that use vehicle recordings directly from the outside (exhaust or engine), where there are all kinds of frequency sounds, from low to high. 🤔 Our app does this capture inside high-powered vehicles, where the vehicle's insulation cannot prevent the penetration of low-frequency sounds (the strongest "waves"), and those that shake the vehicle's particle structure. 🌀 Therefore, our app is designed to deliver immersive audio experiences with a strong emphasis on low-frequency (bass) sounds. We literally want to shake your car as well! 🌪️ However, we've encountered variability in the user experience due to two main factors: 👉 Audio Output Gain: This is valid when using AUX cable (jack 3.5 mm). The audio output gain of a mobile device refers to the amplification or volume levels of an audio signal through the audio output, when using an AUX cable. This gain may vary between mobile devices. Sometimes, even within the brand itself, a model has a gain 3 to 5 times higher. This means that there are mobile devices that will achieve a higher audio volume. As a result, users may perceive the sound as lower or higher in volume depending on the specific device they're using. 👉 Sound System (bass levels): Like we said, the sound frequencies played by our app are mainly in the domain of low-frequencies (bass). Weaker sound systems do not have the ability to play bass, and the audio will sound low. Larger speakers powered by a powerful amplifier are much needed. Just as a tweeter speaker is not designed to play low-frequencies (bass), a subwoofer is not designed to play high-frequencies (treble). It all has to do with what the speaker was designed for. We always recommend having a subwoofer or speakers large enough to meet the app's requirements. Did we talk about shaking our own car? 😝 All it takes is one of these factors not to match what is required to deliver unwanted results, but the combination of the two can sabotage the experience. 😢 🛠️ To give you a better guide, here are the app requirements (see about Sound System): www.potenzadrive.com/requirements ℹ️ We advise you to read our FAQ in detail (see the AUDIO section): www.potenzadrive.com/faq#h.n0bd81ezj9fg You can always get in touch with us, we will be happy to help you as best we can: support@potenzadrive.com

Hey Omar, thank you for writing us this beautiful message of encouragement!!! 😍 We are sad to inform you that only a Bluetooth adapter will work with the Potenza Drive app. Also, it must have an ELM327 chip. 😕 What are the advantages of a Bluetooth adapter over Wi-Fi? 👉 Cheaper adapters: You can get one for as little as $3. The "ELM327 Blue" is our recommended adapter: bit.ly/PD3wZSR77 👉 Save more battery: It saves 10 times more your smartphone battery compared to having Bluetooth or Wi-Fi turned on. 👉 You can use the Internet: When Wi-Fi is turned on, you cannot use the Internet from your smartphone (Mobile Data). Hey Patryk, in this video you can see that we are not using AUX cable. 🤓 Since Android smartphones can connect with multiple devices at the same time, if your car radio has Bluetooth you can always play audio through it. Nonetheless, if your car radio has both [AUX input] and [Bluetooth], you have two options: 👉 OPTION 1: [Smartphone] ➡️ [USB Type-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter] ➡️ [AUX cable] ➡️ [Car radio (via AUX input)] 👉 OPTION 2: [Smartphone] ➡️ [Bluetooth] ➡️ [Car radio (via Bluetooth)] We always recommend option 1! 👀 Therefore, in your case you would need the [USB Type-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter]: amzn.to/3IlYGSu Why option 2 is not recommended? Because Bluetooth is known for: ❌ Audio delay: Which can range from 0.5 to 2 seconds. Perfect for listening to music, but bad for the Potenza Drive, which needs real-time sound. In this video, as the smartphone is high-end and the car radio is modern, they "negotiated" a fast Bluetooth audio protocol. The OBD-II adapter on the link is just a recommendation for its low cost. We've already ordered some adapters from this seller and they worked well. Although, they're not the best performing adapters, they're a good compromise. It should be noted that this is a "Made in China" adapter and there are no guarantees of the quality of manufacture of the adapter, and it can also come with a defect. It's important to pay attention to the return policies. There are OBDLink brand adapters that are much more expensive, but performance and build quality are assured. Hey monete, the Android OS does not natively allow using the resource to control the audio volume for each app. 🧐 To work around this situation, our app slightly lowers the volume of all other apps. In our app there is also a volume button that allows you to individually control just the sound intensity of our car sounds, allowing you to set a gain that goes from -10 dB to +10 dB. @PotenzaDrive
Жыл бұрын
Hey buddy 👋 there are two ways to play sound through USB-C: 👉 Android Auto: Using the USB-C cable to stream audio is unfortunately not supported by the Potenza Drive app yet. Google only allows apps from major developers, with greater reputation in the market, to have access to a set of APIs (code) that we do not have. This serves to only accept apps that respect a set of rules that do not distract the driver while driving. 👉 USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter: This adapter allows smartphones without audio output to have this interface. Therefore, your car must also have an audio input (otherwise we recommend using an FM transmitter). We always recommend AUX cable, because using Bluetooth always has a delay and worse audio quality. But it's still possible to use and also brings moments of fun. In order to better help you, and because each case differs from person to person (a multitude of different devices), we recommend that you contact us with your questions: support@potenzadrive.com

Will i also have delay with cabled android auto connection?
@PotenzaDrive
Жыл бұрын
Hey Yoran, the Potenza Drive app is incompatible with using a USB cable to interact with Android Auto. 😕😕 The reason is that Google only reserves this functionality for reputable developers with a track record in the market. When talking about driving, it's necessary to respect a set of requirements. However, we are looking forward for any changes to Google's policy to support this feature. 🚀 Now if you are talking about an AUX cable, this will be a great help to have real-time audio. See our list below to see all the requirements, and the impact each one has. 👇 The devices used in the setup have a huge impact on this aspect. By setup we mean: ● Car OBD-II protocol Only cars with ISO 15765-4 CAN protocol allows real-time sounds. Other protocols are immensely slower. ● OBD-II ELM327 adapter A good adapter can be up to 3 times faster in acquiring engine information. Also, a good adapter achieves more stable communication (without losing packets). ● Smartphone/Tablet The performance of this device is important to be able to allocate all the necessary resources to the Potenza Drive app so that it can generate sounds in real-time and establish fast communication. ● AUX cable Playing audio through AUX cable is the only way to get real-time sound. Playing audio via Bluetooth always has a delay of 0.5 to 2 seconds. Also the audio quality is worse compared to using AUX cable. If you have any further questions, we advise you to contact us via: support@potenzadrive.com

While not a solution, the only way at the moment is to just use a device that supports Android OS. If you have one around the house somewhere, it should do the job. 🤗🚀 Thanks for all your support! ❤️🙏

Thank you for your interest in the Potenza Drive app! 🤝 We don't have a free trial. However, we do have an app to check adapter compatibility (it provides a score), that we recommend downloading to see if you have a good adapter. It also tests your vehicle's OBD-II protocol and what latency is expected. OBD2 Test [FREE]: bit.ly/PD3kF14Xu Our app supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB adapters. Please read our list of requirements carefully: www.potenzadrive.com/requirements Any questions or problems you may have, please contact us at: support@potenzadrive.com

We understand your opinion, but it is necessary to bear in mind that we are a very small development team. For the project to survive, it must have some cost. Furthermore, we believe that the app is a very small cost compared to similar systems like Active Sound Design (ASD), which only offer one sound (two or three if you're lucky) and add an extra subwoofer. The developers of these systems ask for thousands of euros/dollars. We kindly ask you to contact us: support@potenzadrive.com

does it exactly match the revs of your car or it overrevs? like I'm going 3k rpm and the sound is 5k rpm if it makes sense, is there a way to make it not do that?
@PotenzaDrive
Жыл бұрын
Good question! 🙋❓ The Potenza Drive app allows sounds to be scaled to ensure they fit any type of engine. That is, you'll just have to look at your car's cluster and see your engine's redline RPM, and put that value in the app. For example, the redline RPM of your car if it has a petrol engine it could be 8000 RPM and if it has a diesel engine it could be 5500 RPM.

Hey, first of all thanks for your interest in the Potenza Drive app! 😍 Well, your Volkswagen Golf IV, while being a fantastic car, suffers from a very old OBD-II protocol. 😭 We believe that your car has the ISO 9141-2 protocol, which was released almost 35 years ago. You can confirm with our OBD2 Test app the real protocol of your car (link in the video description). Reading through OBD-II is slow and extremely sensitive (connections drop). 🐌 Our app needs as much information as possible to generate sounds in real-time. Unfortunately this protocol is extremely slow, and only 2 to 4 parameters/second can be read (in the best case scenario). ⌛️ Compared to more modern vehicles (and using good OBD-II adapters), it is possible to achieve up to 140 parameters/second. ⏱️ In short, what is happening is that your OBD-II adapter is rejecting the connection, because it realizes that it cannot keep up with the requests made by the app. 🥵 As we want to help you, please get in touch with us at: support@potenzadrive.com

Does not work! Connected all day! Galaxy A71 phone. OBD ELM327! I connected two different OBD manufacturers. I sat in the car all day and looked for the reason. Other OBD programs work! Then it’s not clear how the application connected. The sound is lagging! The sound you show on KZitem is completely different! Complete nonsense! I decided to change it to the sound of another car, but again I couldn’t connect! Again, I couldn’t connect for an hour. Connected. How she did it is a mystery. The sound of another car is no better than the first!!! I just lost a lot of time and nerves on your application. If the application were free, there would be no question, one star and that’s it. But it’s paid and for my own money I ruined my whole day! Thank you! When I have time, I’ll be sure to record a video of how everything really happens.

First let us express our sadness at your experience. ☹️ We want you to understand that your experience will be different from other users. We just create the app (software), but there are an infinite number of combinations of devices (hardware) that make everything work perfectly 👌 or be a real disaster. 🫠 The app is very easy to use and intuitive. 👀 And you seem to have all the requirements for the app to work smoothly, however, you may be missing something. 🤔 It is very likely that what happened to you has already happened to many other users. Therefore, we will almost certainly be able to guide you in the best way. 🛟💪 Please write us your problem, and indicate your setup (with all devices including the car): support@potenzadrive.com

@@PotenzaDrive Hello again. I understood what the problem was. I guess. But it’s not exactly clear yet. My car runs on both petrol and gas. When gas equipment is installed, they make changes in the connection of the engine electronic unit. Today I decided to check everything again in a calmer state. Applications that showed data show it incorrectly, but they write that everything is connected! I don’t know how this happens, it’s some kind of nonsense. Your application doesn't see it either. (But after some time it can somehow still start 🤷♂️) Perhaps the bad sound and operating mode of the application is also due to the fact that Elm327 does not see anything. On another machine, why didn’t your application work then? This is weird. (although it should have worked, it has a diesel engine) I won’t give you any definitive answer yet. I'll go to the service center soon and we'll sort it out there.

@@MM_Marlboro_MM Well, that shouldn't be a problem. We have a video on our channel with a car with a petrol engine that is adapted to LPG. As you can see, everything goes well: kzitem.info/news/bejne/kZxv25OMnHlnooo The ECU data must be correct, as there are other electronic components in the car that depend on reliable and correct values. Therefore, this leads us to believe that you may have a faulty OBD-II adapter. You can read on our website about the importance of quality OBD-II adapters (read 3.7 to 3.11): www.potenzadrive.com/faq#h.bjef0gtxoww3 As we told you, please contact us via email, only there we will be able to support you: support@potenzadrive.com
