I was using the Zoom H4n at an event to record audio. It was on top the Dj's speaker and it rattled off and the impact of the zoom h4n hitting the ground caused it to power off rendering a 0 bytes file. This may also work if you were to pull an sd card out while still recording.
Programs you need:
Data Rescue- www.prosofteng.com/windows-da...
Audacity - www.audacityteam.org/download/
VLC (to see import setting) - www.videolan.org/vlc/
1. Use Data rescue to make a "clone" of the card with the audio file on it.
2. Create a disk image of the clone using Disk Utility.
3. Import the .dmg file you created into Audacity as a raw file
4. export recovered file
