Official video for Gyspyqueen from Audio Karate's sophomore album Lady Melody. Compiling footage from nearly 20 years of shows, this video captures peak Audio Karate in London at Astoria (RIP) with the Ataris (2003), Tokyo at a sold-out headline show (2003), at the Japanese Vans Warped Tour (2004), at the Glasshouse in Pomona, CA (2002), on various stops supporting Descendents in Berkeley, Ventura and Chico (2018), along with AK at the Blasting Room recording the album with Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore (2003).
The video is in support of Lady Melody receiving a remastering and first pressing on vinyl, which was self-released by Audio Karate and is available 11/25/2020 at www.audiokaratestore.com. Limited to 500 total copies distributed amongst 3 color variants, the album features reimagined artwork, Art's original handwritten lyrics, and some other goodies across the gate-fold. While Jesus is Alive and Well (and Living in Mexico) is the harder edge of Lady Melody, Gypsyqueen is the more appropriate showcase of Audio Karate's talents. Featuring constantly changing drums, smooth bass lines, shredding riffs and solos, and Art's raspiest melodies, Gypsyqueen is a definitive Audio Karate track.
Thank you for all the years of continued support, hope this video reminds you of simpler times...not a single cell phone in hand by anyone in the audience. Imagine that.
