LISTENING NOTES:
I tried 6 tracks on the LS50 and the LS70. Here are my comments:
"Be a Body" by Grimes • Grimes - Be a Body
The LS50 sounded rich and warm on the synth tones, but it borders on stuffy. There's a real substantial weight to the bass. Soundstage seems nice enough. The LS70 sounds very similar, but maybe the bass is just a bit cleaner. Maybe a bit more lift in the upper treble. I could maybe imagine it has even more bass?
"My Country" by Tune-Yards • tUnE-yArDs - My Countr...
Vocals seem a little distant / congested on the LS70. Bass is again dominant. The LS50 actually seems less bass dominant.
"In Dreams" by Chelsea McBride's Socialist Night School • In Dreams
OMG the LS60 sounds lovely on this track. Rich male vocals. The brass parts are just a bit muted, but overall everything sounds weighty and substantial. On the same track, the LS70 sounds more pronounced in the brass, with more upper treble detail. It sounds a bit more balanced, and still wonderful.
"Optimist" by David Byrne & St. Vincent • David Byrne & St. Vinc...
On the LS50, everything sounds a bit jumbled. The LS70 has less recessed mids and this helps it sound more layered.
"Someone In the Crowd" from the La La Land OST • La La Land - Someone I...
Listening specifically for the double bass, I feel that the LS70 has more sub-bass.
