India's retail inflation rose to 3.65% on a yearly basis in August, up from a five-year low of 3.54% in July. The data came in higher than what economists predicted. Food inflation too, rose to 5.66%. It was reported at 5.42% in July. This was the lowest since June 2023. Meanwhile, the combined inflation (rural and urban) fell to 3.65% as compared to previous month's 3.54%.
