I purchased one of your planting calendars last year. I love it. It’s larger than most calendars, it’s printed on very sturdy stock, the photos are pretty and it’s great to be able to use it over and over. TY 😎

Hello Angela. I am in zone 9B in Redding CA. I always appreciate your insights into growing in our challenging heat. I am starting a new garden after a move and I am looking forward to including worm bins in my beds and a permanent shade structure for the hottest parts of summer. Thank you for sharing.

I'm so glad my friend found your channel and told me about you. I'm in AJ and trying to grow some things. You have inspired me by letting me know that it IS possible to grow things in this climate. I started some corn, zucchini, red bell peppers, Roma tomatoes, and sunflowers indoors from seed today. We'll see how it goes!

I don't understand your climate. Do you have a long gentle warmish fall. What do those temps look like in September, October, and November. I don't get a first frost till first week of December but we go from 105° heat in October to cool enough that the plants don't continue to grow. It also starts to rain and the polinaters disappear. Even my cool season plants just sit there until early spring. A greenhouse would probably help a lot. Just curious because figuring out the timing of everything is challenging. I follow you because my summer heat is the same as you but I'm a lot further north. I'm in California, northern end of central valley.
@1992eg

I'm a california central valley (559) gardener here, for fall don't seed everything at once. You'll also have to try hybrids and try different seeds.
@GrowingInTheGarden

Timing is crucial, you're right. We tend to have a very warm fall. December and January things cool down and we may get 1-2 frost events (but not always). If you have a longer cool season a greenhouse may be helpful for you. Many cool season crops also do well outside but as you say growth is slow over the cooler months. Getting them planted in early fall helps the roots to get established and get them growing.
