I had a cousin from Sweden who wanted to be an Au Pair in the United States. She ended up connecting with a famous professional hockey player from Sweden and his wife in New York. I assume they wanted someone who could speak Swedish for their children, but it worked out well for her.

Hi, with buying the berries and the smoothie, did you pay for it with your pocket money or did the parents give you money to spend? Love the video by the way!

We picked the blackberries ourselves so that was free. Bananas, raspberries and strawberries were already in the fridge :). As an aupair I didn’t have to pay for food (except for stuff that I only eat myself), but no you’re not supposed to pay for food nor accommodation. Idk if i answered your question :) lmk if I didn’t or text me on instagram: mariarebarta

how many hours does aupair works in a day?
@mariarebarta
it really depends on the family, I work from 9 to 17 from Monday to Thursday. Generally aupairs can work a max of 10 hours a day and 45 x week. :)

it is!!! but don’t give up, host family will appear (you just have to be really patient). Trust your gut!!! If you feel something off don’t force it, another family will show up.

Depends on where you go!! UK is around 90/100£ a week (mon-fri). USA is 200$ a week. You can google the aupair poket money based on your destination ;)

Is it hard to be an Au Pair?
@mariarebarta
it really depends on the family (and the number of kids), the duties you have to do during the day (hours and chores), your energy and willing to do things with kids... Also if you are not used to living abroad you might be homesick. But overall everyone who enjoys being around kids and travelling can do it!!
