This song deals with the Utøya massacre in 2011, where her friend was killed at the age of 17. Aurora was 15 at this time. "Today is the day. 22nd of July. It's been 4 years since you left us. Since all of you left us. How time flies, we even find ourselves forgetting for a moment, nearly moving on .. Not because we forget you, but because we remember to live. But know that I will always remember you, and everyone that went down with you. I will think of love, and send love to those who needs it this today. I hope no one crying alone. Rest in peace my friend. You are free now. " - AURORA

The massacre in Norway cost the lives of 80 people by bombs and gunfire. Among them were many children, including Aurora's friend. The song is for the bereaved. The last sentence says it all. She sings "finaly we are over" all the time. In the last sentence, however, she only sings "finaly I am". That says she's not over it. That's just what everyone tells themselves to be able to continue in live.

Her studio stuff and music videos are fantastic, her live video stuff are mindblowing, but the crazy part is: to actually see her live, stand in front of her, seeing her eyes and movements, feeling her power and warmth: it is a feeling I cant describe to you, the language have no words for how magical it is..... I am going to my 5th concert friday, there is going to be many more!

As the anniversary of the Utoya massacre approaches in a few days it is quite fitting to hear this tribute to the victims. I would encourage you to watch her performance of this song from the Mahogany Session as a tribute to not only the many lives lost that day but to all victims of senseless, needless violence.

as a contrast, there is an older live session of this song that is visceral to the feels and its called the Little Boy in The Grass - Mahogany Sessions. Very much worth a reaction too when you have the time.

That's cool how hard you plugged HER channel and music and output. Obviously you guys have your own thing going to plug as well....but it's just cool how you were proactively telling people to go check out more of her stuff as well. Of course, that doesn't apply to me...because I've already seen/heard literally....everything she's ever done lol.

Aurora is not just Great Artist she's the sweetest and kindest Lady in the univers. I met her by coinsidens after a consert in Trondheim and whe had a couple of minutes together talking about music. It felt like meeting an old friend. By the way have you reacted to her cover of Teardrop? If not you got to check it out. Another Norwegian band with Aurora qualities is Kalandra. Kalandra is a Norwegian Folk Prog band with a fantastic female singer (Katrine Stenbekk) she got the same mystic Nordic vibe as Aurora. Please react to their cover of Grizzly Man or Helvegen. As you proberbly know Aurora is also performing Helvegen With the Band Wardruna. Love from Norway ❤

Great reaction to this masterpiece production. NRK the Norway national tv produice this show, you are right: the sound ingenering, the lignt, the acoustic of the place monitorize perfectly, the orchestra and organ, evrything, evry detail is their to fit with Aurora powerfull presentation, so well done.

It seems that there is audience filling the aisle and the nave, as well as both sides of the transept, because Aurora turns to all sides when she's performing. It looks like she's performing in the crossing with her band members around her, with the male choir and most of the orchestra in the choir of the cathedral. It's a really big medieval cathedral!

Not gonna lie, I was wondering what happened to your Aurora-Nidarosdomen series. 😉 As beautiful as this performance is, the song is inspired by such a dark event in Aurora's life (and that of many others), I always have mixed feelings watching it. It's both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. I'm unsure of the exact setup there, but Aurora comments at one point how people are seemingly everywhere, so it's definitely an unusual setting for a concert performance (beyond the obvious fact that it's in a cathedral). Glad you mentioned how great the mix is. Whoever is responsible for the sound mix on this concert deserves an award. To say nothing of the video and lighting production, which is also award-worthy. Every person responsible for this concert recording brought their A-game. Thanks, looking forward to the next one! 🤟

Thanks for a great reaction as usual. There are people in front of her and to both sides. As I read in a media review from Norway after the concert, there were 1200 seats available, and they sold out in two hours.

👍😍😍❤️ I love this song and performance, but as a Norwegian it’s hard listening to it without seeing what happened🥹🥹 She lost her friend, he was only 17, at the Utøya massacre in July 22, 2011. Aurora was only 15 at that time. 69 people were shot and killed on that tiny island, most of them youths. They were on a political summer camp having “the time of their lives”🥺 Just before this happened, eight people were killed by a bomb in the government quarter in Oslo city. It was a diversionary maneuver. Then he went out on Utøya dressed as a policeman. He also intended to kill the prime minister who had given a speech on Utøya just before, so he was too late for that. So in total he killed 77 people that day ♥️ I can't bear to write his name I’m looking forward to the next, “Under Stars” which is her third released song🥰

That pre-chorus is SO haunting... The part with the lyrics _"sounds of laughter in the air...still today we hear them."_ It's the way the melody ascends...it's so aching and yearning, which her eyes mirror. Also just realized today....is the anniversary of the Utøya massacre this song is about... :/
