Hi, Rahdo and thank you for the very helpful preview. Could you tell me how you understand the snake aspirant's ability "blue gem gives +2 influence per kept card"? When did you trigger it, when you took a card or when you kept a card? I found many of the rules to be ambiguous. Which is bad as I wanted to back it. When I had a sneak-peek before KS launched I gave feedback and some even got considered and applied to the rules therefore I don't know if it is relevent for your preview which is based on the older rules but... On 23:35 you play two blue gems and Paulo says it's enough to have them in hand, well, that's Paulo`s goof because these gems have to been played and according to the current rules also used and you goofed by doing it all a bit out of order ;) Continuing with ambiguous rules: The raise X keyword says clearly you put raised cards face down( these are considered foundations).The Constructing sources paragraph only says you "place" a star marked card on top of a foundation. I understand it, that you don't have to raise the gem to play it on top of an already built foundation because raise only applies when you put things face down in your raise area. But you played it completely different, so I don't want to call it a goof, just curious how you see it because may be it never occured to you to see it my way? Was every rule clear for you from the start? Does somebody taught it to you this way? Have a nice day
@rahdo

hey there, it's true that you can raise as many cards as you want without creating a source. it's just once there has been at least one star and one non-star card raised, you can pull them out of thei raise area and create a new source. so i was just cutting straight to that, as it's what you'll do most often. but i can imagine you might just raise to get rid of all your starter gems and never create a foundation at all, as a super deck thinning option. on the snake, as i understand it, that bottom effect basically means every time he triggers a blue action (from the left most card in the line), he gets 2 bonues instead of one like the other solo characters. so he forces me to discard once, and he gets 2 points per card that he's previously kept. i agree that the rules do need work... i gave them a lot of feedback while i was learning how to play the game, and i hope they take it on board!

Regarding the 23:35 on my note, the rules Richard passed to me don't say they have to be in the play area and much less that they have to have been used already... they only say it's a condition and in this case the Condition is to have 2 Blue Gems... I see that the rules on the KS page are different so I'll remove the note... But at the time the note was made it was correct and the way Richard played was correct also
@PauloRenato23
4 жыл бұрын
Actually I edited the note because Richard didn't have to play and use those 2 Blue Gems because he had already used 2 Wild Gems as Blue Gems to activate Opportunities, so the Condition of that card was already met

When playing solo does the opponent get stronger with time? Seems like you as a player get much stronger with the raise and seal abilities but the usurper stays the same?

@@AltarenGalil first time i played it beat me, 2nd to times i won. i'm not sure if they 3 characters my prototype had are considered different difficulty levels or not. one thing that can be done to increase their difficulty easily though is to have them stow a card or two as part of setup so they're ahead of the curve :) yeah, i suppose difficulty level would be a good addition!

whats the point of turning a card you buy face down when you always discard it face up with the rest of the cards?
@rahdo

you don't really need to do it, it's just a method to ensure you don't get confused in a particularly complex turn and end up thinking it's a card that you can activate this turn.

While initially I wasn't too keen on the art style, I found it growing on me over the course of the video - or maybe more the graphic design of the cards? The flow of the game? In either case, the game is now on my radar. Good rundown! Will be keeping my eyes open for a two player review from someone, but this is now on my interest list. Edit: Upon further review, it's the cover art that bothers me. That central woman's face is just too odd.

@@rahdo Fair enough! Glad I found your vid on this game. I'm just getting to play it finally. Very cool and your video was a great. Some people just over-explain stuff.. too many rulebooks overdo it as well but in this case I see the rulebook was also updated online so that was nice. I got this game via KS with the expansions. Gonna try those this week. Fyi, I also backed another game called Sanctuary Keepers Era... it more like MTG, if you're into that stuff. It's pretty bad (imho) for solo but it might be an interesting 2-player duel. For us there's just too many powers/abilities and icons to keep track of. Not an easy game to play. Anyways, IF you've played that one already I'd be curious what you think.
